I have realized my situation. Was still dehydrated even tho taking in 48-60 oz of Fluid because I wasn’t eating much and then I am lacking serious minerals in my body

Yeah thats what the Vitamins are for. Thats odd you were dehydrated from lack of food and you have high Fluid intake. That was probably my issue as well.

I was also horribly constipated. I took Dulcolax mild OTC and it helped me SO much! I only had to take it once. My doctor said Constipation is normal with everything our systems are dealing with on top of anesthesia.

Thanks, I have taken some Miralax so I'm hoping it will help soon!

Hi,

I had my sleeve on 11 Dec 2017. I am from Singapore.

332 lb pre starting the pre op diet
320 lb right after op
300 lb 3 weeks post op
293 lb 5 weeks post op

When I went for my 1st appoint 3 weeks post op, the staff at the hospital told me that I am expected to lose more so I got depressed.

I had few days where the weight does not go down, generally when I am sick with flu or cold which made me feel down however I am starting to get used to these short pleatu and try to adjust my diet

I am currently at 63-70g of Protein and 800-850 calories daily.

I hope to lose 130 lb with the 12-18 months window so my weight will be 200 lb from this surgery and then lose more by my own there after.

Well I tell you I never thought baby food would taste so good. I seasoned it and it was actually ok. Hoping you have less issues.

Hahaha - I had sweet potato baby food last night and thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was amazing.

I had my sleeve surgery on 12/28. I start pureed foods on Thursday and am back to work tomorrow! Nervous about going back to work. I have also stalled in my weight loss. I lost about 17 punds since surgery and cannot seem to move. very frustrating! Any tips are greatly appreciated!

I lost 7lbs the first week after surgery and then stalled for two weeks. Not a single ounce lost after one week post op!!! This morning I lost 1lb, so hopefully that means my stall is over. It’s extremely frustrating! But I have been told it is normal, and you will get through it.

7!! 71 would put me at goal! Wouldn’t that be nice :) I’m three weeks out today and 8lbs down.

I am getting at least 60 grams of Protein a day. I could be doing better on my Water.

I’ve tried, but I can’t get it much higher. There’s just not enough hours in the day to eat/drink what they tell me to. I get between 60-80g of Protein a day and keep calories between 600-800. I don’t measure Water, but I sip throughout the day. Probably not meeting their recommendations, but definitely not dehydrated.

So.... Starting 4 weeks out post op... and I got a uti [emoji849] first one ever... I think it’s from the cathiders I had at the hospital... (kidneys wouldn’t wake up from anesthesia) out in macrodantin yesterday and it makes me feel aweful for the first couple hours. Like weak and flushed dizzy... and now just now my back is hurting... could this be from the antibiotics?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
