Totally normal to feel this way... at the moment you're stomach is swollen, you have loads of restriction, and it's a bloody shock to the system!

Once it all settles down (usually 2-4 weeks) you'll feel so much better about it all, I promise!

Chin up and know that it will only get easier from here on in!

Hi,

I'm sure that once everything settles down you will be fine. I'm due to be banded on 3/12/07, so I'm haveing similar thoughts myself. Everyone I have had contact with has said that they would not be without their band - good and bad - they would do it again.

Remember you should be taking it easy right now. You have just had major surgery and you need to recover. Give it time and try to relax for the moment.

Where were you banded? (seems to be the one question we always ask:D)

It does take time to get over the surgery. I felt "normal" after about a week, but some people do take anywhere up to 2 or 3 weeks to feel human again.

Congrats on the band.

Dawna,

I'm being banded by Dr Liebman at North Shore Pvt in Sydney. Where are you looking at being banded?

That's a question that I believe many people have. I know I did before the band.

What am I doing!!! Will I ever be normal again. Why ME? All the negative self talk comes out. I now am 3 weeks post surgery. Feel great, can eat more than I should but that is temporary till my first fill and am feeling that I made the right decision.

Hope you start feeling better soon.

Cheers

Sounds like we're all at different stages of the same questions... why me and will I get through this?? This is my third night since surgery and so glad to be home... couldn't relax at the hospital at all. Glad to hear that it will all settle down soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
