Disappearing lapbanders

Seems so sluggish in this forum.

Would those of you with bands please just let readers know you are still around? (Hoping)

Thank you.

Ps I do understand sleeves far outnumber us on this board .

I had lap band 25 years ago and now because it has eroded up into my esophagus they are converting it to gastric by pass. I’m nervous because I want to follow instructions but seems like so much information on how to eat.

I haven't been on here in many years. I joined back when I had my surgery in 2006. I lost 169lbs (made it to my goal) without actually having a fill. Since my surgery I have had five children, so I have gained back over 50lbs. My youngest is eight months old, and I am done having children, so I started back losing weight two weeks ago and I am almost 10lbs down. The lapband isn't for everyone, but I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

Hi! I just discovered this site! I was lap banded in 2007 and have had pretty good success all these many 13 years now. I'm 5feet 5 and weigh 135 pounds now. Not without effort though.

If anybody replies to this I'd gladly answer any questions...

Good to hear from another 'Vintage' Bandster. I was 12/04 banded. Sounds like lotsa changes. In Oregon.

I'm vintage alright....how has this journey been for you? For me....fairly uneventful, no major problems, just adjusting to the difference but it hasn't been a miracle cure....just an assist. Bada

And I just hit another milestone. I'm now officially a member of the 100 Pounds Down Club!

melflirt01 hit the nail on the head. Many doctors won't even do lap bands anymore as the patients that have had them a long time are encountering problems. I'm one of those statistics--mine is 10 years old and I'm having it removed next month. Good luck to all the bandsters here!

Take care and good luck to you as well
