  1. The left is 13 years ago (right before surgery), the right is a year later. The 3rd picture is just a few weeks ago.
  2. I cannot believe that it has been over 13 years since I have gotten my band. I am no longer at my goal weight after having five children, but I am working on losing this 49lbs now that I am done having kids.
  3. I like the Simple Truth chocolate or vanilla shakes. Premier protein is pretty good too.
  4. I haven't been on here in many years. I joined back when I had my surgery in 2006. I lost 169lbs (made it to my goal) without actually having a fill. Since my surgery I have had five children, so I have gained back over 50lbs. My youngest is eight months old, and I am done having children, so I started back losing weight two weeks ago and I am almost 10lbs down. The lapband isn't for everyone, but I wouldn't trade mine for anything.
  5. 13 years later and still doing good. I had five kids since the surgery, so my weight went up, but I am getting back to losing this last 40lbs.
  6. I had mine August of 2006, so not too far off!
  7. I feel some restriction in the morning, but other than that, not really. Thanks. I was amazed that it all just kind of fell off. I lost most of that the first year.
  8. 08/27/06 Pretty healthy. I work retail, so I get exercise in everyday. I have lost about 150 lbs. I am happy, considering that I have never had a fill.
  9. I had my surgery in August of '06. I am down 150lbs.
  10. That is a really cute dress, and I also love the clothing line. I say go with the large just to be safe, because you can always have it taken in before the wedding. I had the same dilemma before prom two years ago, but I went with the larger size and it was a little big, but it still looked good, so it worked out in the end.
  11. I'm really happy for you. I don't really know about band sizes, sorry I can't help you there, but I did have my surgery through LapBandSolutions and it was a wonderful experience. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.
  12. I was banded August 25th, 2006. I have lost 67 lbs so far, and I had one fill back in December, but it was taken out a few months back. I am still losing though, so I'm not worried about it.
  13. I was about 335 (my highest) in the first one, and about 255 in the second one. I am now 240, and hopefully I will have more pictures up soon.
  14. I had my surgery when I was 18 (a month before my birthday), I am 19 now and it has really helped me. I would have gotten it at 17, but I had to wait until I was 18.
  15. I have United Healthcare and they paid for everything. When I go for appointments and my fills, all that I have to pay is my twenty dollar co-pay. It only took a few weeks for me to get my surgery. All I had to do was have a stress test, blood work, and get a paper from my doctor with my weight every year for five years to prove that I have been overweight for a good chunk of my life. I am not sure if yours will be different, but I hope that helps.
  16. I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. My name is Andrea and I am nineteen years old. I had my lap band surgery on 8/25/06 and I had my first fill on 11/08/06. So far I have lost a little over thirty pounds, and I still have a hundred more to go before I reach my goal weight of 175lbs. Thats about it for me, I hope to actually be an active member here.
