I usually ask for a to-go box as soon as my entree arrives and then put half of it (at least) in the box as soon as it arrives at the table. That becomes lunch or dinner over the next few days. Or if I don't want to be carrying around a to-go box, I order an appetizer as my "entree". Usually, they are sized just right.

It shouldn't be taking you less time to eat than them, though; you eat less, but you should be eating very slowly, so it should work out all the same. Honestly, most people I know might even take LONGER to eat than me...

Put down the fork between bites. It helps, when you're out. Chew, swallow, talk a bit. Then take another bite. Don't just eat eat eat.

my favorite eating out, though, is when I can split something with someone, or taste things other people are eating. Just a bite or two and I'm good.

I am the same way. Husband had surgery 11 years ago and also doesn't like eating with people because it causes him to eat too quickly and gives him stomach problems. I think I feel like it's a waste of money for me- may just start eating before hand and drinking at the restaurant

I find that if I share an appetizer with someone then take a few bites of their food I am full. If I order a meal it usually lasts me about 4-5 days. I find it to be a waste honestly because I can hardly eat it and really, I enjoy my cooking more 95% of the time. The only time I will go out to eat is when I'm craving an ethnic food I am not good at cooking. Otherwise, I prefer to eat the food I make because then I know EXACTLY what is in it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
