Today was great down 21 pounds in 2 weeks I can not even imagine how this is possible but woohooo takes my total to 31 pounds down I feel very good. The issue I thought might be cellulitis is nerve pain so we are going to do some pain meds for that and see if we can get the inflammation down woohooo. Gallbladder biopsies turned out normal so another great thing, and of course I was given the blessing to move onto mushy foods wooohooo yes I came home and had pulverized chicken with a bit of mayo that whole ounce was just wonderful the act of chewing alone was great, and now I wait my 30 mins to have water and take the med for the nerve pain.

I hope everyone had a great day today!!!

Had my first post-op today. I'm doing well and the doc is pleased with all the numbers :). I'm down just shy of 10 pounds in a week! That's amazing. Perhaps more amazing is how I feel. I've done very well with keeping things down and progressing along. I'm having very little trouble getting all my fluids in and my protein level is pretty good too. I start new and exciting things this week like vitamins, cream of rice, V-8 juice and soups. I just read Sunnyday25's post above and can't wait for pulverized chicken! I go back in two weeks for my next appointment. Hope everyone is doing great! Hugs and prayers!

I’m scheduled for tomorrow, 10/27/17.

Good luck today! Let us know how you’re doing!

Had surgery Monday, 10/23. Home 10/25. Surgery wore me out, but not sick. Pain is manageable. Trying to get my walking in, but I'm so tired. Heparin shots are a pain. Doc never told me about those.

What on earth are Heparin shots?

Blood thinner to avoid blood clots.

I am 10 days post op and I’ve had so many compliments ... already? I’m feeling better but one of my surgical sites is infected and it’s a pain in the ... well... belly lol
Otherwise I feel fine and I’m energetic. I am having a hard time slowing down and not doing too much because I feel so good.

I know how you feel. I also are 10 days post op and feel fantastic. Have no issues and no pain ever. Feel like doing more than I should and returned to work after 6 days.

Pain has been minimal. Had several episodes of extreme weakness with dizziness and lightheadedness the first 3-4 days home but I'm better now and managing my protein intake.

I return to work Monday.

I’m not having any pain but I’m still sleeeping in my recliner because it hurts to lay on my side. I’m still extremely week and not sure why. I’m getting my 60 grams protein in. Any ideas?

Your getting protein however you may be have deficiencies in other areas. Have you started vitamins yet. You should check it out soon. Somethings just walking and more regular small meals may help as well getting up your energy level. Hope it all joes well for you. I know I only sleep 5 hours a night and that sometimes makes a long day tiresome for me

I still can not sleep on my side , but I can sleep on my back without any issues... I am 10 days post op too and no pain at all and lots of energy... I started taking protein powder today , but honestly I felt great even with out it.

I can drink pretty much like before , and no issues at all. How fast can you guys drink 8 oz of liquid??

I do the “sip sip sip” method. I do better with my fluid intake if I’m busy... I have my water bottle in hand at all times and i seem to “sip sip sip” at nearly every transition... my NUT told me not to consume more that 8oz in an hour... so I’ve been keeping to that.

The only thing that hasn’t been awesome, other than the site infection, is that I feel brain fog and the length of time to think things through tends to be longer than usual. It’s far different than before. My husband suggested that it could be due to the lack of calorie intake. He might be onto something. Anyone else notice anything like this?
