Any January 2018 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I was scheduled for the 16th. It was pushed to the 30th because I blew it on the pre op diet. I ate stuff I don't even eat believing I might not have a chance to eat it after the surgery. My a1c was up a little. I learned a lesson . So I'm ready now.

I followed the pre-op to the letter. I was afraid going off plan could hinder healing & add to recovery time.

Doing my pre-op fast right now and I am REALLY struggling. Surgery scheduled for the 31st. I have worked so hard to get to this point but... this Clear Liquids diet sucks[emoji53]

Being one week post op I wish someone would have told me just how important the pre op diet was. I followed my pre op diet almost perfectly. I realize now that it helped me train my mind on how little I would be able to eat after surgery. I know it is really hard to stick to the pre op diet but it is also really hard to stick to the post op diet. Except post op you won’t be able to cheat because you will hurt yourself. Just remember that it is all going to be worth it in the end!! No pain, no gain. Or in this case no pain, no lose!

Thanks that really helps[emoji173]️
I had the same thing running thru my head. I wasn't expecting to get surgery till end of February beginning of March but, they called this week saying they had a spot open on the 31st.. I kinda felt thrown in at the deep end. Wasn't prepared mentally or with my groceries🤦🏻‍♀️

So important to be prepared. You can do it! I gave all of my food to a friend. Only items I kept were items I could eat on my new diet. Everything else went! It was a little sad but it also felt really great!!

The preop diet was challenging and I honestly didn’t stick to it. I did manage to lose some weight even having a few slip days. I had my sleeve 1/16/18 and I haven’t had any issues sticking to the post op diet. The challenge is cooking for my husband while heating me some broth! But if I can do it anyone can! Good Luck!

I actually don’t have a pre op diet other than full liquids the day before surgery. I kind of wish I DID have a pre op diet... my surgery is Monday and I’m like WHAT IF I GAIN A COUPLE POUNDS AND THEY TURN ME AWAY?!?!

Do one anyways! My pre op was two shakes and a small meal. The small meal had to be high Protein, low carb. Snacks had to be either SF popsicles, Jello, or broth.

Good idea! Thank you, I think I will! [emoji175] my surgery is Monday and I cannot wait! I am having my gastric band revised to a sleeve. I just got these adorable pillows in today just in time for my surgery! I’m going to be using them as stomach pillows for when I need to cough or sneeze or laugh.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
