June 2017 Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I was sleeved on June 22, 2017 today my weight is 145.2, yesterday was my 1 year follow up apt with my surgeon weighing in at 146.6 I'm holding steady between 145 & 146 for the past month but i feel great just trying to enjoy my summer. I still drink my Premier Protein in the morning and afternoon anything else has to have a least 5 g of Protein per for me to even consider to put in my mouth. I still have a hard time eating chicken, eggs no fruit and very little vegetables and i get sick if try to eat any type of cake or ice cream and yogurt i love as long as the sugar content is lower than 10 g. I have cut out all refind sugar and the carbs i eat if it's included with my protein which i try to keep no more than 50 g or less. :P Exercise 30 minutes a day walking and cardio 1 hour 3 to 4 time a week,

Good for you, congrats. I'm in a stall, but seeing my nutritionist & support group for help. The stall's because I cheat: so I'm recommitted to following the VGS diet protocols. It helps me to see the progress you've made, as well as others. Thanks.

Hi! I was a revision from band to sleeve in June 2017! Trying to get back on the wagon again. Only 16 pounds away from my personal goal. Water is a big one for me... oh and carbs and sugar!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
