So I won the lawsuit against SLIMBAND IN TORONTO how do i collect

  • Popular Post

So to make a very long story short, I paid 16,000 dollars to the SLIMMBAND CLINIC IN TORONTO, TO INSERT BY LAPOROROCOPY AND GENERAL ANESTHETIC A DEVICE WHICH WAS TO CONTROL MY APPETITE AND HELP ME TO LOSE AND MAINTAIN MY WEIGHT, FOR MY HEALTH.

I was blind sighted, I should have done my homework, this very clinic and doctor had jumped ship on hundreds of other innocent unsuspecting, patients. I went through the courts and won the case against the clinic, big deal they shut their doors one week prior to my court date.

My only hope is to tell anyone who even thinks about this way of life in the Toronto area be certain it is not the same owner, nor the same doctor that took my money and left me with a nonfunctioning piece of silicone band in my abdomen. Three surgeries later and many heart aches and physical discomfort I had the monster removed.DO NOT BE FOOLED THEY HIRE SKINNY PEOPLE WHO TELL YOU THEY HAD THE SAME SURGERY. I HAVE ASLO BEEN IN CONTACT WITH PATIENTS THAT ENDED UP WITH SEVERE INFECTIONS AND MANY COMPLICATIONS.

@serenity786 I am sorry to hear you going through complication. There is no to be afraid to get band removed. You will be in good hand in Canadian Government Health Care. It is important to get removed before it get more damage in your body. However i am glad you got email as well. It seem like why most Toronto lawyers refuse to take case because of policies and they already knew Rosenberg Law firm was already taking lapband case. so I assume Vancouver and British Columbia had different policies than Toronto. That explain why this law firm taking it up quite some time to get approval by Judge to start Class Action.

After that email asking me for information i didnt get any more correspondance. Did you hear back?

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could offer me some assistance. I had an emergency slimband removal last year as it eroded through my stomach, encased itself in scar tissue, and nearly killed me. Even with it removed, I'm still dealing with ongoing health issues, though we have checked my entire GI and it is seemingly fine so no one knows why I'm still losing weight, have no appetite, struggling to eat and experiencing pain while eating and digesting.

I'm looking for lawyers - I've contacted 3 and only one is willing to take it for a $10000 retainer. I'm back in college (this ordeal forced me to drop out last year), so that's not a great option. I was hoping to find someone who works for a contingency fee.

If anyone thinks they can help, please reach out! Thanks! :)

OHIP covered the surgery. You have to find a surgeon in your area and make an appointment tell them how the band is hurting you and you need to get it removed. They will then take you in the office tell you how they will do the surgery and if your okay with it they will book an appointment. Just know you get a few more scars added to the ones you already have grown the original surgery. The moment it’s out you go back to normal... no more pain!!

if you need any information or help just message me :)

thanks,

Samantha

I just got my surgery yesterday. Due to covid i had extra tests and had to travel each day 1.5 hours. When i woke up i cried at how relieved i was. When i took my first bite and for the first time in 10 years it didnt hurt i cried. Im soo grateful to dr. Hong from st. Joseph hospital and for you to make a recommendation. Im still in paim but soo happy.

@serenity786 YAAAY!! I know the exact feeling when Dr. Hong took it out last year. It feel a heavy burden to relieve out and your mindset is now healing through trauma of symptoms we went through the bad. I remember after woking up from surgery asking the nurse if the band was out. LOL .. I am so happy to tell you i lost 40 lbs and i am still working on it. i will never ever take my weight loss for granted. I am on keto/ low carb diet and it had been working for me. Right now the post surgery will be painful for aleast a two week. My tip is to keep walking and then take couple hour to sit and lay in bed and keep rotating your body otherwise your back is gonna be hella sore.

Speedy Recovery and now it time for you to enjoy and breathe in this healing journey ❤️

I live im toronto but went to hamilton. I had to do endoscopy to make sure its safe first as at times the band needs to be peeled off and cause bleeding so he prepared for that. Then a pre op then covid testimg surgery. So had to make trip 4 times but soo worth it as he put it under ohip due to pain. Its difficult to have a doctor do that for u and we are abandonned. The nurses were telling me they are getting a lot of band removal better to do now theb in emergency. My family dr actually refused me but i gave her a name and she sent referral but u can call directly
