@serenity786 YAAAY!! I know the exact feeling when Dr. Hong took it out last year. It feel a heavy burden to relieve out and your mindset is now healing through trauma of symptoms we went through the bad. I remember after woking up from surgery asking the nurse if the band was out. LOL .. I am so happy to tell you i lost 40 lbs and i am still working on it. i will never ever take my weight loss for granted. I am on keto/ low carb diet and it had been working for me. Right now the post surgery will be painful for aleast a two week. My tip is to keep walking and then take couple hour to sit and lay in bed and keep rotating your body otherwise your back is gonna be hella sore. Speedy Recovery and now it time for you to enjoy and breathe in this healing journey ❤️

@serenity786 I am sorry to hear you going through complication. There is no to be afraid to get band removed. You will be in good hand in Canadian Government Health Care. It is important to get removed before it get more damage in your body. However i am glad you got email as well. It seem like why most Toronto lawyers refuse to take case because of policies and they already knew Rosenberg Law firm was already taking lapband case. so I assume Vancouver and British Columbia had different policies than Toronto. That explain why this law firm taking it up quite some time to get approval by Judge to start Class Action.

Hi Ann, I got my surgery done last 4 week ago by Dr.Hong at St. Jospeh Hospital. He took me really fast within a week and got it removed after three days.

Updated news: Hello, I had followed up many law firm related lawsuit class action for medical default and personal injuries. Unfortunately Jacquelin Palef from Lerners Lawyer firm unable to take on this matter due to a conflict. Gold Batt Partners firm mentioned about to aware that in general a person in Ontario has to start a lawsuit within two years of the event harming them or the knowledge they were harmed. If you do not start your case within two years, the defendant may say your case it too late and is “statute barred. I had couple lawyer was interested then once they took up the board it was not good case i guess.. The lawyer asked to keep eyes on BC firm because at the moment the court isn't currently approved the case yet.

Hi Ann, So first Jacquelin Palef from Lerners Lawyer firm will take up to the board to confirmed then she will contact back me after two week to confirmed. Then once she created a class action in her website then you will put your name on the list and she will look into every each case. For now we need to keep our finger crossed once the board is on the board.

Is anyone is in GTA or outside of GTA? Just forget to ask the lawyer if she can advocate client for Toronto or across Canada clients . I read her bio that he can represent USA and Canada clients.

She is expertise defective medical devices and she had worked many class action. I spoke to her the phone personally and she mentioned she will take up to the board first to confirmed and then we go ahead from there. I would need hear back her from next following two week. Let keep our finger crossed.

However, there are many more patients out there in Canada who are simply unaware of this lawsuit by lawyer David Moriarty of Rosenberg Kosakoski LLP.The proposed class-action lawsuit, filed in a B.C. court, has not yet been certified by a judge and none of the allegations in it have been proven in court. I would directly contact and find more information from this lawyer. Unless we have to find one our own lawyer at Toronto.

Good to know! It day three so I am lot in pain on left side. The nurse was telling me the doctor had pull my muscles so that probably why it hurt a lot. I can't lay down flat or sit too long cause it feel heavy ?

Just directly ask your family doctor to sent your referral to Dr. Denis Hong and he will get back to you. I was referral by Wharton Clinic as well and they told me to ask my family doctor for referral. I can imagine the pain you are feeling. Take it easy.
