yeah, I've had diabetic educators say the same. Maybe it works for some. But my blood sugars are completely normal now, even after fruit (which before would spike my sugars.)

Mine are normal now too, but I am sticking with the low carb. I see no good reason to add them back. I still eat my veggies.

Thank you.
I'm afraid to stop weighing daily. In the past, the only time I've been consistent in my weight loss has been when I weighed daily and kept myself accountable. I'm terrified if I stop, I will weigh myself only to discover I'm 20lbs heavier. I know it's not rational though, but the fear and anxiety is real.

When I went to visit my nutritionist after 4 weeks, she told me that I should lose up to 10 pounds a month's, to me that is reasonable. Even if you lose 8 lbs a month, 2lbs a week, in 5 months that's 40lbs. Just don't get so frustrated. This surgery was just a tool. How it works for some is different for others. Just stay on track and you'll be fine.

I've averaged about 10 pounds a month in the 6 months since I've had my surgery (down 64 since surgery, 94 total). My loss is much slower than I expected it to be and even got discouraged early on because my surgeon asked me why I wasn't losing more weight at my first 2 post op appointments. I've noticed that I tend to lose on a pattern and I stall every month for 1-2 weeks around my period. It's frustrating but it's my bodies way to dealing with this process so I've come to accept it. I started this process a year ago July 19th and I'm down just under 100 pounds so the frustration and stress has been worth it in the long run. I would like to lose another 37 pounds to reach my ultimate goal.

I feel life is a constant stall and bam, I'm down 5 pounds! Just remember that slowly but surely it will come off. I am down 80 pounds since last August (surgery 11/22) and it has been a struggle. I'm down maybe 5 pounds since April and I've had multiple previous stalls. All you can do is focus on the finish line and stay on track with your food/exercise. You will reach your goal :).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
