Christian bandsters

If there are any Christians out there who are looking for special support during this time I thought we could start a thread related to this. It might help with those thoughts and doubts as to if this is the right thing we are doing or any other 'shares' that might come to mind. I could use some at this time in my walk.

Sister in Christ,

Valerie

Well friends, God is always in control & is ever faithful to hear and answer our prayers. My PET scan was negative, my oncologist is going to repeat the CT/chest in 4 mo. to measure size changes. My primary care doctor thinks I should wait for surgery until Jan after they do the follow-up CT. My oncologist said the surgery can be done now. I have an appt with the urologist 10/06 & he's the one who originally wanted the surgery postponed 1-2 mo. And, when all the reports are in, the surgeon will ultimately decide when it should be done (all done in Gods' time).MarilynC

Oh, Marilyn, what good news. God is indeed in control and hears our prayers. All of us are blessed with this news because it give us just another opportunity to praise and thank Him. I hope the news continues to be positive, and you can be banded soon.

Yes, PTL!!!!!!! Oh how our God is ever faithful!! He answers our prayers only to show us His plans for us!! This is wonderful, marilyn and what a testimony to share with your urologist!! "Thank you, Lord for your love and encouragement to Marilyn!"

I just wanted to tell you how refreshing my first evening at the Christian Thread was. I went to bed feeling good about what I had read. I have to say that the testimonies here are so positive and uplifting.

Some nights I have gone to bed thinking,,,,,,,OH ME,,,, am I stirring up a stink for myself?

I was a product of the staple procedure back in the 80's. It back fired and i had to have it reversed. I lost too much weight and was right at deaths door. I am bigger than ever again. I pray for guidance and success in the adventure that I am planning. I pray the same blessings on my new friends that I hope to make while visiting here.

I am in Arkansas, 52, and looking to be Banded ASAP after the first of the year. I will be changing my insurance company.

Later Tators...

Mary:smile:

Mary, I'm glad you never gave up on God blessing your life! The Lapband will surely be a whole new beginning for you, diff than the first one. Remain faithful to God and what He has in store for you and don't be afraid to give him your heart's desires. He always knows what we need but ever loves to hear us call on Him!!

A November Date! Hi Sisters of Surgery (SOS), I like to make up abbrev.

My surgery date is Nov. 12th, and am working on well to prepare for it. I have been reading this thread from the beginning and been so encouraged by the posts. Looking forward to participating and gaining insight from the forerunners! Your kindness and suggestions truly help others. Would like to hear some more of your stories, like Brenda in S.C., Long to Be Thin, and Phylser, yours is amazing! Also to stand with JoannMarie, Marilyn and Melody Mary and i.e. AnnE! I just found a good book, (with others I am reading).. Spiritual Secrets to Weight Loss by Kara Davis, a 50 Day Renewal, seems so far balanced, encouraging and even suggests with an accountable partner! I have bout 50 days, so I thought this will be cool to do with my support sister at home. Have a Healthy Day of Choices!:bolt:

Welcome, Roseyyyd1 !!

How exciting...another new "SOS" who knows where her faith lies!!

I love your comment for the day..."have a healthy day of good choices". I'm going to write that on my fridge door.

God bless on your new journey!

Good Saturday afternoon to all of you!

Spending time with family in the San Francisco area

on our way south for the winter.

Welcome to all of you who are new here!

I enjoy reading all your posts.

Blessings in your journey!!

Hello to all,

I heard from the bariatric coordinator yesterday afternoon. Apparently I have been cleared for surgery, and my chart is on its way to the scheduler for a DATE! I should hear from her early next week. After all these months of waiting it still seems like she was talking to someone else - one of those "out of body" experiences - haha. I am hoping for an early date, of course, but am left a little bit nervous...

That's GREAT news, Joann!!

Don't be nervous! You're going to be a SUPERSTAR!!

Hey all! So happy to find you . . . . I am just starting, my PCP has sent me to a 14 week class I guess it's nutrition and preparation and pre-surgery weight loss, I am very happy to be on my way but wish I wasn't doing it alone! Anyone else in Nor Cal? Any Kaiser bandsters with good tips for me?

In His Peace!

Riley

Welcome Riley!

Nor Cal as in California? Yep and Kaiser too! Where are you going to classes? 14 weeks, have you attended Orientation yet? What is next appt? Have been going thru the journey for awhile now. PM me when you can, would like to help. Have a blessed eve!

Well, I have my date! Surgery scheduled for Dec 4th! I don't think it has sunk in just yet. Probably blocked by the head cold I seem to have developed. New for me - I have had maybe 2 colds since retiring 4 years ago. I'd forgotten how yucky they can feel... I had my second sleep study Saturday night - started to feel the cold coming on 2 days later. I can't help but wonder...

Ah well, minor setback. Now to think about Dec 4th and whatever I can do to make this all come together and work!
