I am scheduled for June 28th also in Jacksonville Florida. Sounds like we have a good little group going here. We are all in the same place for our surgeries. I am very nervous also. I have 100 percent confidence in my surgeon. I will be starting my full liquid diet on Tuesday before surgery. From what I have been reading, I don't think my doctor has been as strict as some of the other doctors on this website. I have been on a low sodium and no/very low carb way of life for 2 weeks. The hardest part for me has been no fruit or milk. I am already down 22 pounds from my first appointment. Blood pressure is improving, blood sugars are getting better. My problem now is am I doing the right thing or should I just continue with this "diet " they have us on. I am diabetic and feel like I need to continue to eat better and feel better.

I know the answer is have the surgery done, I am self pay and that is alot of money on a single person. I will update when I can after the surgery. Good Luck to everyone here.

I had my surgery on 06-20-17. The first few days have been rough, I'm finally on full liquid diet now and I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, because I am a little bit more encouraged with the full liquid diet. We have to remember that the discomfort that you will feel is only temporary and once you get over those first four days, you will be fine.

Very true. I remember drinking Water hurt. Now I take some pretty big sips and I am fine. Full liquids I do great. Puréed has been tough but like the rest, I am sure it gets better with time. Had a fried egg just now and that seems to be settling well. I chewed it a lot though. Tried some baby food tonight. Won't be doing that again.

I second guessed right up until they gave me the happy juice and I am so glad I did it. I'm already down 15 lbs in 18 days and my energy is through the roof. First few days are rough and every stage is a bit tough at the beginning but it gets better every day. I got out a tote full of clothes that 3 months ago were way too small. Today they fit or are a bit too big. Best thing I ever did for myself!!!

I also had my sleeve on June 28, 2017. Doing better than I originally thought. I love reading all the post on here about what to expect. I have not stepped on a scale as of today, so I don't know what I have lost in the last couple of days. The only thing I remember really is me waking up in recovery and the nurse telling me it was over. My BP was extremely low. Got into my room, with a full house. The family support system is great. Have not had any of the nausea or vomiting (except recovery). Just struggling to drink all my liquids to stay hydrated.

I have found strength in reading about everyone's journey.

Thank you for the advice, I have been taking gax x strips for the cramping (seems to work well) Today I was so excited I was able to move to full liquids. Something new. A little disappointed I have only lost 2 pounds since my surgery. I am hoping it is just swelling. Has anyone else had this also?

How's everyone doing? Just got home today. Had a few bleeding issues. What are you eating? They moved me onto full fluids right away....just struggling to find things I can tolerate.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
