May 9th buddies

Just got the call today that my insurance was approved and my surgery date is May 9th. Since my body is not so big the doctor said the tools would fit in my body easily therefore I didnt have to follow a long liquid diet. Im so excited. Is anybody else scheduled for May 9th.?

Lol! No I'm not supposed to drink out of straws but I can't sip on those thick drinks!

I'm really enjoying the Protein2O drinks right now. It's a nice change from the thick shakes.

I may try those.

Yup! Tomorrow is the big day and I'm packing my bags now. I can't believe the day has finally arrived... I've been dreaming of this new beginning for years and now it's here! This is so surreal! I hope yours goes well, too, dear.

Wishing you the best luck and prayers your way. My surgery is at 7:00am. At first I couldn't wait for this day to get here now I am regretting it. I am so scared! Mainly because I have sinusitis and my nostrils keeps getting clogged and im so afraid to stop breathing during aurgery. [emoji30] [emoji22][emoji21]

I pray everyone's surgery went well. Mine, not so great! I had an arrival time of 6:45 am Tuesday, May 9th. Got there & they immediately took me back to be weighed & changed. I was in and out of the OR in no time. Little did I know, my surgeon was not able to do my surgery. I found this out once I was wheeled back into my room where my family was waiting for me. Apparently, my liver was still too big!! After 10 days of the liquid diet it had not shrunk enough. Was it the baked salmon I had one night? I don't know. All I know is that on Thursday, May 11th, I started another liquid diet. This time there hasn't been any cheating, but this is so hard!! I go see my surgeon May 24th & it's liquids until then. If this liver hasn't shrunk by then, then I don't know what to tell you!! Wish me luck!!

With your starting weight, 10 days just wasn't long enough. My surgeon would have had you on a 21 day liquid diet. Not your fault! Just be sure not to cheat anymore ;)

Mine didn't go so well at first either and it was scary. For the 1st 2 days, I was vomiting blood clots and couldn't even keep water down. The upper GI showed that I was suffering from edema because the contrast wasn't moving out of my stomach. With nothing else to do besides feel horrible and puke my guts out, I began meditating. My meditations helped a LOT in this situation because I began having buyer's remorse and a lot of negative self talk, but God kept sending me positive thoughts and feelings about my situation! So, during my meditations, I envisioned the edema settling down, healing, and the passing of liquids as they should and on the 4th day, I was finally allowed to have ice chips. And the gas is no joke especially when it rests in the shoulder! What was really awesome was that, while I was meditating to solfeggio tones on YouTube, I randomly looked up to find one of my nurses sitting in the recliner meditating with me! Love, in all its forms, is amazing! So, I have at least two good memories from that ordeal. ☺️ But I look forward to this new life. I've been home since Sunday and it's gotten a lil easier, but the healing is coming along nicely. This has been one helluva ride and I just started ?.
