Sleeve vs RNY
Very true. My surgeon told me that they don't like to advertise it, but they leave the original part of the stomach n duodenum inside. Idk if the same is true for sleeves, however. Sent from my LG-H918 using BariatricPal mobile app

Questions about bariatric surgery
Your doctor sounds like s/he is very caring! I had to convince mine to approve the surgery because I "didn't look that big." So you're at least blessed in that regard, dear. [emoji4] I had the rou N Y (gastric bypass) on 5/9/17 and I've lost 40 lbs thus far. I've been walking a lot and getting more active and some pills have become unnecessary now XD. Bonus: I've been shopping every week for new clothes as I donate my old ones. Woohoo! There are a plethora of informational n testimonial videos on YouTube, too, if you want more variety of experiences. Sent from my LG-H918 using BariatricPal mobile app

Damaged myself, alcohol?!
As my surgeon said to me: "be sorry, but not too sorry. We are human, not machines, after all." Use that energy to learn and move on instead, dear. I hope you're feeling better, BTW! Sent from my LG-H918 using BariatricPal mobile app

Medicare as Primary
Once everything was submitted, I was approved about 2-3 weeks later. The hold up was due to my surgeon's team not submitting a surgery date and time frame for hospital stay when they submitted the authorization. But I have Medicaid, however, so Idk if things are different for you. Sent from my LG-H918 using BariatricPal mobile app

You should definitely check with your surgeon or surgeon's RN. I was told that I can't take anything larger than a dime so I cut my tablets where I can. I'm also taking hairnamics (huge pills) to help lessen hair loss and I can now cut them in half and take them that way. If I must take acetaminophen, I take children's liquid otc for now. My other vitamins are chewables like Flintstones or celebrate (love their watermelon flavor). Sent from my LG-H918 using BariatricPal mobile app

How many solid/pureed meals?
I'm 3 weeks PO on Tuesday and, yeah, you're not the only one having trouble with water, dear. I used to be able to chug it down pre-op, now it makes me feel sick. Even distilled jug or filtered tap water are no-go's. So I tried propel and it goes down a lil easier, but it still feels gross. To compensate, I'm drinking fat free fairlife milk as often as possible and eating SF Popsicles. So, so far so good.
