I am 11 months post op from gastric sleeve. I've went from 195lbs to my current weight 122 lbs. My goal weight was 130, but I kept on loosing. While I didn't find it such an issue until I got down to 122 and find it hard not to loose. I even have gone back to eating more carbs then usual. I look too thin now, and my face is very thin, and starting to look very old. Has anyone else had this issue. I'd like to gain back about 5-8 lbs

Speak to your doctor and/or nutritionist. Most likely, your body will reach it's set point on it's own. Be careful adding the carbs, watch that they aren't trigger foods and cause cravings. You don't want to start back into old habits. Maybe add small amounts of healthy fats instead?

I agree, speak to your surgeon or your NUT. I fear this happening to me as well. I am 6 months post op and 1.4 pounds from my surgeon's goal. My wife says I am already too thin.

The body needs carbs to regain weight (insulin is a building hormone). White sugar actually gets adrenaline going, which is counter productive since adrenaline is a weight loss hormone. (Ever see a skinny sugar junkie? I have!)

So, concentrate on complex carbs, healthy fats, Proteins, and Vitamins so the body has everything it needs to start building again. Exercise should be moderate cardio (30 minutes, 3 times a week) OR walking 3-5 miles per day. AND weight lifting 2-3 times a week.

I have no way of knowing how many carbs y'all should aim for, as it just depends on your own metabolisms. A good general starting point is 150g/day. If that seems high.. well it has to be to get you gaining. If it seems low, then add 50g a day to what you are currently consuming.

Increase the carbs by 50g/day each week until you stop losing weight.

Same thing happened to me. I am short at 5'2", but I dropped down to 112 lbs at about a year. Too thin for me. I added carbs and I thought I didn't need to worry about what I ate. Huge mistake. It was a slippery slope and I put the 8-10 lbs I wanted to back on over the next 6 months, but I kept going. I am over 4 years out, and since that point, I regained all the way back up to 150!! I have recently gotten back under control and weighed in this morning at 122.6. I'm not saying don't add in some carbs, just be very careful! And I can relate to looking old after losing so much weight. I actually got some botox and fillers and that helped a ton! Not cheap, though and I won't be keeping that up.

I agree that you should check in with your nutritionist. Go back to logging every bite you eat. Experiment with a little bit of grazing, but keep it focused on Proteins, healthy fats & complex carbs. You need to be very mindful to negotiate this challenge. Are you in therapy? If not, consider adding therapy on a weekly basis. You need to figure out how you can balance your physical and psychological needs.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
