This is my first post on this forum :)

As long as all goes well in Insurance Land I will be getting sleeved in 12 days (eeeeeeek!) May 17th is THE DAY!

I came home on Monday after eating and drinking my way around France and Italy for 2 weeks (best food funeral ever, btw). Even better, I was only up 2.5 lbs from when I left, which was the day after my last visit for my 3 month supervised diet. I wanted to be sure I was under my last recorded weight when I went back to see the surgeon yesterday for my final pre-op visit, so I started my office's pre-op diet just to drop a few pounds. Well, that worked out in my favor b/c they were able to schedule me 13 days out instead of 19 (they only do WLS on Tue & Wed).

So, I'm powering through the pre-op diet . My office does 2 - 3 approved Protein Shakes a day (I use Premier) and 1 high Protein, low carb meal a day, with the option to snack on raw veggies whenever. I'm feeling pretty good so far. This weekend I'm planning on preparing for post-surgery meals for my family. I'm a big meal prepper so I'm going to make sure the hubs and 3 kids are set for food so I don't have to cook when I can't eat anything.

Looking forward to sharing my journey with everyone! I love reading about your journeys.

I had my sleeve on Monday and then proceeded to vomit for 2 days, earning myself an extra night in the hospital. I was so afraid I would rip the staple line, but it seems to be ok. I really was not expecting to vomit so violently.

I hope you're doing better today.

It is the 9th for me as well. Just did the first pre-op and all looks good. The liquid diet has been a challenge, but I just have a few more days. Good Luck!!!

Oh no! That happened to me when I had my appendix taken out and it is something I worry about. I have spoken to my surgeon and anesthesiologist about this and they are confident they can handle it. I'm sending you positive vibes and hope you are out of the hospital soon and ready for your great new life.

It is so worth it! I was supposed to be sleeved on May 2nd but they moved it up to April 24th. I was very nervous and excited but am so happy I went through with it. I am down 20 lbs from last Wednesday. I am assuming a lot of it has to do with still being on liquids but still happy about it. The biggest problem right after surgery was the Nausea. Now its the gas pain but gas x chewables are helping along with walking. I am back to work and feeling pretty good. I haven't had to take any pain medication since 7pm the day of my surgery. My surgery was at 11:45am. Good luck to everyone preparing for surgery. You won't regret it!

I am so glad you are doing well. What an inspiration. Did your nausea last a long time? Was it the anesthesia? I am glad to hear that Gas x Chewables are helping. I am on day 4 of the liquid diet and it has been hard. I am so ready for the surgery and hearing your story gives me hope.

Surgery is two days away! I am so happy that I've made it through the 800 calorie liquid diet phase. I had to work for most of it and my main problem was feeling lethargic. I was using about 3,000 calories and consuming 800. Now that I am home and can rest when I start feeling a need to, it has been easier. After about day 2 of the liquid diet, I stopped feeling hungry and started just feeling tired. On many days, I struggle to get that last shake in. I'm getting the Protein, but not the calories. I can also smell food like a bloodhound. I can smell the ingredients in every meal. My husband has been doing the cooking. I did cook yesterday, but it was hard.

TWO DAYS!!!! I'm excited and nervous. I know all is going to be well.

So I was sleeved on Wednesday the 3rd. Just got home yesterday and am doing very well. Walking is the best thing ever and I can't stress that enough for everyone just getting ready to have their surgery. Also I stayed in the recliner chair and never went back to the bed while I was in the hospital. Make yourself get up and moving. The mouth swabs to wet your mouth and chapstick saved me too. When getting up and sitting down to walk use a pillow to press to your stomach. It also helps when walking. I'm trying to get my Protein in and my liquid but it's tough. It's crazy how full you feel after just a little. I hope everyone does well and congrats deciding to take this journey on! I was super nervous the night before my surgery but I am so proud of myself and can't wait to see my progress!

Happy to hear you're doing well! I agree, the walking helps. I love to walk so being out of the hospital is better for me. I'm walking around my neighborhood and it feels good to be out and about. I went today to buy other flavors of Isopure and Lil bottles of Water. I was using the big 1.5 liters of water but it was too much to look at and see how much I have to drink. I like looking at the Lil bottles and I only have to drink 3 or 4 at the most.

Do you dilute the Isopure? It is such a large bottle. So happy you are doing so well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. Β Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay πŸ₯³πŸ˜. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
