I've lost 33 pounds so far and I'm throwing out my "fat clothes" today! Anyone else clean out their closet while losing weight?

I'm pre-surgery. I went through my closet and gathered all the clothes that are too small and don't fit now....but will fit in a few months. So excited to be able to wear some old favorites again!

I trash or donate my clothes as soon as I drop a size. No going back. I also pretty much only wear fitted clothes. Stretchy clothes are for fat people (because they help you become and stay fat).

You might surprise yourself and never get to wear them. I dropped weight and skipped sizes. A lot of the stuff I wanted to wear was too big by the time I tried it.

7 months and 5 sizes less later I still don't mind shopping for new clothes [emoji57]

A friend of mine came up to help me go through my closet and get rid of everything that was too ridiculously big....that was about a month and a half ago, and I already feel like I need to do it again. T_T

I can't wait to do this!!

The downside is I hand make some of my own clothes and to go through the effort of fitting, constructing, and styling a garment to only not be able to wear it in a few months is disheartening to say the least.

Something to think about with clothes. Call your local battered women's shelter and donate to them. Many of these women leave a situation with literally "the clothes on their back". Especially if you have nice clothes you wore for office work. Goodwill donations are good too.also if your community has a program that helps low income women dress for success. They could use the donations too. I know many big women really dress well. It would be nice to know your good clothes went to help someone else who was making a change in their life. I have clothes I bought but never wore, in 22,24. Sizes.....I just never felt comfortable in my clothes and I so look forward to the day that I do. [emoji4]

I'm pre-op and got rid of a bunch of clothes I didn't wear, hardly wore, and don't ever want to wear again! So, I'm actually very limited on what to wear now. Mainly tshirts and workout pants. A couple of jeans and nice shirts. Tired of wearing these things too. My church has a donation store (probably even bigger than a large Goodwill store) that they allow church members to shop. It's all free. And they only keep gently used clothing, so it's nice stuff. That's where I'll be going. Until I reach close to goal weight, then I'll go out to the department stores again.

Yes. But I did keep one pair of my biggest pants. Never forget from whence I came!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
