March 11, 20179 yr I've lost 33 pounds so far and I'm throwing out my "fat clothes" today! Anyone else clean out their closet while losing weight?
March 11, 20179 yr what size and what item? dresses pants? I am on the other side of the us.. washington state..
March 11, 20179 yr I'm pre-surgery. I went through my closet and gathered all the clothes that are too small and don't fit now....but will fit in a few months. So excited to be able to wear some old favorites again!
March 11, 20179 yr I just did this today . I still have about 15 more pounds to go- and I am still sacred to actually throw them away. I've never kept weight off so it is scary to pull the plug
March 12, 20179 yr As soon as it's loose or a size too small, its out of my wardrobe and off to Goodwill. I have a 'next size down' selection in there and it replaced the 'will keep in case I put on weight' section.
March 12, 20179 yr I trash or donate my clothes as soon as I drop a size. No going back. I also pretty much only wear fitted clothes. Stretchy clothes are for fat people (because they help you become and stay fat).

A lot of the stuff I wanted to wear was too big by the time I tried it.
March 17, 20179 yr 7 months and 5 sizes less later I still don't mind shopping for new clothes [emoji57]
March 22, 20179 yr A friend of mine came up to help me go through my closet and get rid of everything that was too ridiculously big....that was about a month and a half ago, and I already feel like I need to do it again. T_T
March 23, 20179 yr I was planning on buying stretch pants do I don't have to replace them as often. I don't want to spend a ton of money to wear something a few months. What are everyone's thoughts on this. I'm preoperative.
March 24, 20179 yr I can't wait to do this!! The downside is I hand make some of my own clothes and to go through the effort of fitting, constructing, and styling a garment to only not be able to wear it in a few months is disheartening to say the least.
March 24, 20179 yr I'm a bargain hunting shopaholic who's pre-op and hopefully have to buy an whole new wardrobe[emoji12][emoji7]
March 24, 20179 yr Something to think about with clothes. Call your local battered women's shelter and donate to them. Many of these women leave a situation with literally "the clothes on their back". Especially if you have nice clothes you wore for office work. Goodwill donations are good too.also if your community has a program that helps low income women dress for success. They could use the donations too. I know many big women really dress well. It would be nice to know your good clothes went to help someone else who was making a change in their life. I have clothes I bought but never wore, in 22,24. Sizes.....I just never felt comfortable in my clothes and I so look forward to the day that I do. [emoji4]
March 24, 20179 yr I'm pre-op and got rid of a bunch of clothes I didn't wear, hardly wore, and don't ever want to wear again! So, I'm actually very limited on what to wear now. Mainly tshirts and workout pants. A couple of jeans and nice shirts. Tired of wearing these things too. My church has a donation store (probably even bigger than a large Goodwill store) that they allow church members to shop. It's all free. And they only keep gently used clothing, so it's nice stuff. That's where I'll be going. Until I reach close to goal weight, then I'll go out to the department stores again.
