  1. I am really surprised your doctor suggested you could have any type of ice cream. We were lectured on and on about that type of food - no matter if it's zero fat zero calorie - being a no go. Not trying to jump on you at all- just very interesting how different doctors are

    Not Enough Stomach Removed

Don't they use a bougie to measure during surgery?

    Ugh.. extra skin

Hi! Well... before surgery I had a very flat butt- have had one all my life really--- I have been doing pure barre for about a year now and I have a butt now that I love ! ( it's all muscle ) my arms look pretty good too from that class ( los of push-ups ) ... one my inner thigh when I am standing looking has a little extra skin and there not a thing outside of surgery to fix that ( I don't think) .... so I will just live with that part.

Weight loss at 14 mo post op

I dropped weight until About 15 months- basically eating whatever the crap I wanted too. Literally. I mean very little of it but still-whatever I wanted . It stopped at 18 months. I gained 5 pounds then - enough to freak me out

    Diagnosed with MS

I am very sorry for your struggles . Try to stay positive! Lots of help on here

    Restriction Gone

Sounds like you have a ton of restriction. Drinking is not going to make you feel a lot of restriction- the further you get out from surgery the more you can drink. If applesauce makes you feel full then there is no problem.
  7. I wish I had known that the first five months would be terrible. I was a special case in that I was super nauseas for that time and no meds worked so I really just didn't eat - but I would still do it again- but I was not prepared for that

    Got a date... Chickened out!

I did it at 39 and man I wish I had done it earlier .

    Waist training

This seems like a fad. Like going and getting a wrap to make you lose five pounds. I know what they are and what they do- but we just all paid 14000( or I did ) to make a real change and get a tool that is majorly effective. One of my fav things about this surgery to me is that I am not Falling for and spending money on things that more than likely won't be a lasting answer

    When do you stop losing?

I don't know that is a good question. More info needed I am 14 months out- down 63 and think I am done . I am in the 140s and think it is where I am supposed to be.
  11. I have always had this problem. Usually have a bm Once a week - if I am Lucky. I started started taking a generic laxative from Walmart- it is literally 84 cents- anyway- I take two and the next day it works - very well

    Lettuce

Lettuce does not do well for me . I am 14'months out and I can only eat about 5 bites and my stomach hurts . I still do it/ just when I have salad as a meal- I don't eat very much [emoji106]🏻
  13. My general doctor was actually the one who said he thought it would be great for me... that was so shocking to me- I never thought anyone else saw me as really large until that day!

    Nobody comments on weight loss?

Exactly what they said[emoji1312][emoji1312][emoji1312]. No one at all noticed the first thirty five pounds of mine but as soon as I hit 50 pounds it was all anyone talked about and made me veryyyyy uncomfortable. Not I have to lost about all I am Going to probably - 62 and am almost at goal Weight and no one says a thing anymore and that bugs me. Ha! So no comment or lack of comment ever made me happy. Go Figure . Make your own happiness I guess is my advice to myself. .

    Not a magic fix..............

All very good and wise points!! The sleeve actually does seem a little bit magical to me- in that I don't care about food too much anymore-- ha! Seems pretty magical

    Kinda Worried

I was 5'4 - 212 and had zero weight related issues ( cholesterol but since losing almost all my weight it actually went up - hereditary) A my doctor told me I was about as "small " as he would do surgery on but that my BMI fit the criteria. My insurance didn't pay but it was worth every penny. Good luck to you.

    Hair loss

I didn't get the required protein or calories for a several months due to severe nausea- never lost any hair. I just think it's genetics .
  21. Wow you look awesome!!! I am 151 and I don't feel as skinny as you look! Wow!! Way to go[emoji1316][emoji1316][emoji1316][emoji1316][emoji1316]

    Sense of smell

The first month it was INSANE- like I would Open the fridge and smell every smell- I could smell people's breath all the way across the room! I cooked something in a pot and could smell the Lima beans I cooked in them weeks before--- it read really gross and made me eat. Very little -- but IT DOES PASS

Thinking about SLEEVE...is this a regret?

I could never lose my weight and if I did- it would come back. My doctor told me there was about a 5% chance that I would be successful ( i had 70 to lose total) So that stat really opened my eyes Anyway- no when I go out to eat I marvel at how little I care!!! And how fun it is not to eat everything!!! I always leave at least half my plate- it's wonderful. And I personally can eat Pasta if I want too- so don't worry about that. I work out a lot so that helps too. Not one regret ( except during the beginnings when I was so nausea but that eventually passed about six months in )

1 year out-what is your eating style?

I eat lots of little meals. I know that this is not totally Recommended- but I still have such little room for food a year out. I am hungriest in the am and always eat eggs or cereal . Then eat a few nibbles for lunch- again at like three - and then small dinner
