Are you on Clear liquids only right now? What did your doctor tell you?

If you are on full liquids then you can have Protein shakes and other things too like strained cream Soups.... you need to ask your doctor if you are unsure.

Shoot, they wouldn't let me out of the hospital until I could down a shake. One ounce at a time.

I was able to start full liquids after 3 days but it is always best to ask your surgeon, didn't they give you guidelines and time periods for your phases?

Right now I'm eating chicken broth for Breakfast, lunch, & dinner. I don't know if I can do this any longer? I'd like to at least have a Protein shake for breakfast and not chicken broth

Ask your surgeon. Your surgeon is the only person who can give you the correct answer for YOU.

I came home on full liquids. Protein shakes, sf pudding, yogurt. After 2 days in hospital. Each dr is different. Follow what they tell you

I was clear liquids for day 1&2 post op. On day 3 I started protein shakes.

I'm on clear liquids until Monday and had surgery on the 22nd. On Monday, I can start with protein shakes/drinks.
