Surgery this Friday!! HELP!

Recommended Posts

Oh wow! Im glad everything went well with you. I have always had a high heart rate but it has slowed down since I started taking heart medication. I'm trying my best to get some rest before tomorrow morning, but it's impossible. Thank you so much.

My resting heart rate before surgery was 120. I tried different medications but each caused problems with my asthma. Now 11 months out my resting heart rate is 56! This has saved my life.
I know what you mean I couldn't sleep the night before either. Keep us posted.

Wow, 56 is amazing! I'm glad you're doing better. Mine has always been around 120-165 and they have me on Propranolol 2x a day. It's definitely been helping me. I was informed of two leaky valves in my heart but I should be ok. I definitely will keep you all posted. Thank you.

Praying for a safe surgery and speedy recovery for you! My surgery is Tuesday so I have shared in your nervousness but I have learned to 1) trust God is with me 2) I've been trying different deep breathing techniques to reduce anxiety and stress 3) every time a negative thought comes to mind I just speak something positive! You will do great! Please keep us updated

Thank you so much. I was discharged already and now I'm at home trying to rest. I'm in the worst pain of my life. The gas that's in my stomach is shooting up to my shoulders and they also had to repair a hiatal hernia. I will be rooting for you next Tuesday. Thank you for your encouraging words, I truly appreciate it.

Hello everyone. My lap band surgery went well. When the anesthologist came in, he was talking to me and put something in my IV and I can't remember anything after that. All I remember is waking up. They told me they need to repair a hiatal hernia. I'm at home now and in the worst pain of my life because of the incicions but more because the gas is shooting up to my shoulders. Do you recommend I drink a Protein made shake? Or just wait it out?
I appreciate each and everyone of you and I thank you for being there for me.

I was thinking about you today! Glad you are doing okay. If you feel you are ready for protein and it's on your plan then go for it. Small sips, the smallest you have ever taken and go slow. Yes, the gas pain is BAD. Walk as much as you can and every day will be better then the last!

Awwww, thank you so much. I drank a little protein but I stopped. I can't seem to even lay down and sleep because of the gas pain. I am noticing myself cough up yellow stuff...is that normal?

I'm sorry for the delayed response. You're welcome! I'm glad to hear it went well! I'm doing a little better. I'm still having gas pain but it's not as bad. I'm currently at my post op appointment now. I wish you a speedy recovery!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
