I was sleeved December 13th I took six weeks off from work just because I was so weak because my calorie intake was so low and I was just trying to adjust you my new stomach and went back to work day before yesterday and I work in an emergency room I'm so exhausted after working 12 hrs I feel like I'm going to have to find some other kind of employment because me consuming about 800 calories and probably burning those 800 calories within the first six hours feels like it's killing me! I've been home for about an hr and I feel like I'm gonna faint. Plz anyone tell me does it ever get better! I'm having a lot of regret and feeling discouraged I'm starting to regret my surgery.

How were you feeling before you went back to work? I'm sure there will be an adjustment period, but if you were feeling good before, you should be able to get back on your feet again.

Can you add some more Protein and fat to your diet on the days you work to give you more energy? How many 12s do you work per week?

I'm only ten days out and I've had some moments of serious regret, but it has been getting better every day. Imagine how much energy you'll have once that extra weight is gone!

I was sleeved 12/22 and went back after 4 weeks to a fairly busy ICU doing 13 hour shifts, too. At first it was awful but I've been back for 2 weeks and I promise it gets better!

Make sure you eat and drink enough throughout the day to help you with your energy.

It will get easier !! Congrats on the surgery :)

I was sleeved around the same time and I still can't get back to work as yet. Maybe it's because it's new to our bodies since we've been home and healing for a while but I just can't! I'm a teacher and I can't run around my kids when I feel tired nearly instantly!

I was sleeved 1/26 and can't imagine going back any time soon. I will have too of course but ugh!! I'm only a receptionist but I am one of 2 in a VERY busy office that I'm fairly new in anyways. I help take care of 5 docs and will now have an additional SURGEON who will start 2 weeks before I go back. He can see patients up to every 5 minutes on the schedule anyways.

For me, stress is a HUGE ordeal, I get headaches and want to do nothing but eat eat eat.

I'm looking for another office to transfer too bc this one's not for me. The OBGYN I worked for for the last 6 years retired so I'm forced to other areas of our hospital. Ugh ugh ugh.

So I feel for ya. Will be praying for us all.

I was sleeved on 1/26 and I am sxheduled to go back to work on the 13th. I don't think I am ready so I am going to be requesting another week. There are ladies that I work with that have taken 1, 2, or 3 weeks off. I want to stick with caution and take the time to heal, rest, and be ready.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
