It seems like every office is different in their requirements too. I never got a booklet that said it was an insurance requirement. That's strange. Especially since we both have BCBS.

The bariatric center gives you a book and then at the top it's highlighted on how many pre-authorization weeks you need in a sense 6 months for me

My BCBS says I need 6 months of nutritional coaching. My endo is writing 2 letters (November, December) for the coaching. I started seeing a Bariatric nutritionist this month. Hoping to have the 6 month requirements don't by April 1st.

Well good luck! My surgery is scheduled for April 10th. It was suppose to be sooner but I work for the school system here so I'm having to wait until spring break so I can have some recovery time.

I don't have to do 6 months of classes. I seen my nutritionist once. In 2 weeks time, I did my fitness eval, talked with a physc doctor, talked with a nutrionist and spoke to the surgeon. Had my upper endo laat week. I go back in March for a bone density scan, another nutrition class, another meeting with the surgeon and surgery in April. My pre op diet starts March 27th.

This makes me nervous to hear. I also have BCBS. I bounce from 36 BMI to over 40. I also have GERD but in the last year am medicated for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I'm hoping my HBP will help my approval.

High blood pressure and cholesterol will definitely help, you should be good.

Bcbs denied my revision two days before my scheduled surgery (I had already been on the livershrink diet for two weeks). I fought them all summer, but finally it was a combination of hiring a Lindstrom Obesity Advocacy lawyer and my surgeon doing a peer-to-peer that got them to overturn the decision and pay for the surgery. I had jumped through all their hoops- six month doctor-supervised diet, etc. Don't give up hope! Denials can be overturned.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
