I am in the RNY preop phase but I'm trying to find good tips on this site. Has anyone tried the Optimum Nutrition protein water? It has 20g of protein for 16oz. My friend is a nurse who is on a diet program and likes this water.

have a tummy pillow. Make sure there is a recliner in your home you can sleep in for after the hospital and if not getting a body pillow.

I wouldn't have bought so much isopure because I can't stomach it. I really wouldn't buy a ton of stuff because what sounds good now might not later. I never used the 1 oz cups. Hated the 10.00 worth of bone broth I bought. I would buy a pack of sugar free popsicles.

@parrott06 so true I bought two cases of a protein shake i liked prior to surgery, and after the sx couldn't stomach it. Just awful and couldn't return it either

See if she'll give you a bottle to try. I bought some and never drank them. Most of them are like 15 G protein in 20 oz. to drink 20 oz post op to get 15 g of protein was too much for me. I preferred to put 30 gram genepro powder in 8-10 oz of milk abs be done with it. Just me though. :)

What would I have done differently ? Had surgery sooner, don't tell anyone except for like bff or close family...even then it can come back on you! I would have dry skin brushed more and used vitamin e and coconut oil right away. Also I would have not introduced sugar back in my diet. Good luck with surgery!! All the best

I would have sent emails a month before to various protein powder suppliers to get samples-i bought premier protein powder vanilla and chocolate and they made me gag. Also, I wouldn't have brought as much to the hospital--really all I needed for my hospital stay was slippers-pillow-bipap-chap stick-undies-socks-toothbrush-hand cream. All I wanted to do was sleep in my comfy bed. I wouldnt have watched to many "bad experience surgery" vids on you tube--they just made me more nervous.
