Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi

I have decided to get the procedure done - just have to save up for it. I live in uk and want to go to Brussels as it seems cheapest and safest there. Anyone know of the above?

Thanks

Poor you laila, that sounds absolutely awful, must have been really scary. Rest up now you're back the pain really does get better every day.

I had my stitches out today, which does not hurt or anything. I'm still bruised at each cut, very yellow looking! The nurse was really good as she used to work with lap band patients. She said the healing really speeds up once the stitches are out.

Can't wait to get rid of the water proof dressings in a couple of days, they're giving me a rash and are a bit itchy, probably cos I've replaced them 5 times now.

Wow Emsey, 25lbs off and still recovering from the op, that's brilliant, when were you banded?

Is anyone else going for the op on 10 September? Hope I am not on my todd!!!

Just a hats off and well don to all that have grown a pair and done it! WoW! So hope to be able to join you all on the lossage soon! x

hi, I am so glad that i am back home!! had the worst time of my life. I was banded on 13th Aug, I was surprise as i did not feel much pain after the surgery, on Saturday when they took the drain it was very painful i couldn't walk at all,i had to be wheeled down to the x ray and was unable to walk due to the pain near my belly button it wasn't really my port ! I was then discharged by Dr Chris, went to the hotel by 2pm then Frederick came to see me around 7pm. from 11 pm i started vomiting but my stomach was empty it was so bad had to call a taxi and back to the hospital, i was readmitted they told me i had a bad reaction from the band. i couldn't sleep all night it was terrible i thought i was going to die. Dr Chris has already gone on holiday since Saturday but he did called to see how i was doing.

well i made it home thanks to my husband he looked after me just like i was a child.

i still have lots of pain on my port side, but i'm feeling better today.

poor laila hope your feeling ok now hun,the pain deffo eases each day, must of been so scary and worrying bet your glad your back home and you can get back to normal any questions hun just ask:smile2:

Thanks pinkshaz! I've hit a plateau now tho which is frustrating! I lost a stone of it on the pre-op diet, was banded on 6th Aug and have lost 11lbs since then. xx

I thought I would do a pre-check weigh in as I have my GP appointment this afternoon and also we are going on hols tomorrow for a week so will miss my weigh in on Friday!

I can't believe that since the 30th July - 17 August (18 days) I have lost 14.5 lbs (1 stone and 1/2 a lb). I know not a lot compared to some on here but I feel so chuffed that it's coming off!

So please don't lose heart if you aren't losing or are thinking about having a band --- it really does work. I have looked very closely at my food intake as well - keeping a food diary and I manage 4 distinct eating periods. Just about getting in 700 calories but the Herbalife shake twice a day is helping to boost that to nearly 1000 cals a day. Thank goodness at least I know I am getting all my Vitamins, minerals and Protein in it.

Thanks for reading and pleased to see others starting their weight loss journey.

So sorry to here lailla about your traumatic experience, do hope it has settled down and you are feeling much better.

Take care

thanks everybody, I'm still feeling very low this morning had to call Frederick this morning had a bit of temperature last night so got an appointment this afternoon with my GP.

I'm hardly eating anything can only take about 2 spoonful of soup i can't drink my shake at all. I know its going to be OK. I'm just one of those who take a bit longer to recover.

md75 you will be all done and dusted now hope your feeling ok let us know how you got on and also laila we will be thinking of you also hope you are both ok you will be both be back on here shortly telling us all the goss lol:lol:

Hi

Thanks for your best wishes. I am back and mostly feeling ok....just lot of pain in the port site. I am on liquids, soup, slimfast and the crispbread. Still feeling quite exhausted and rundown but hope to feel better every day.

I met a lovely bunch of girls who were being banded on the same day and we had a laugh together. Julie, emma, jan, claire...I hope that all of u r recovering well.

Can anyone answer a couple of questions please?

Ive started my pre op diet but am not doing to well although trying hard  so how did you do, were you sucessful?

Also have read somewhere that after the op while on the liquids you should have a kind of transparent soup - whats this and where did you find it, I've bought some slim a soups but they have bits in them are these okay?

thank you
