thank you

i would be grateful for number its just that tullia is requesting 1000 euro deposit tomorrow to reserve my dates in may i feel that going direct would probably be better value for money

thanks again

Mandy,

Cut and paste this link:

Obesity Consultations - Obesity Assist - Obesity Surgery

It's Chris's web site, there's loads of info there and contact details as well.

I have not been for my op yet, but am going soon. I emailed Chris directly, I gave him all my medical history etc, and he gave me a date. I have seen no-one, I have not had to pay a deposit, Frederik said just to pay the whole lot when I get there. The pre consultation is important if you have lots of questions needing answered, I was lucky enough to speak to someone directly who has been to Brussels and had the op done by Chris. I also found this forum that has been extremely helpful, informative & supportive. I did not feel I needed the pre consultation. Infact I am only paying for the op and arranged everything else myself, it was marginally cheaper. But I think the deal Chris offers is fantastic, especially if you do not speak french or flemmish, you have nothing to worry about it is all done for you!

Good luck with your quest!

Iv just had a lovely big bouquet of flowers and a balloon delivered... iv been with my partner 2 years 2day, he is lovely.

Ow! You are so lucky! Romance is such a lovely thing. Will he be expecting a treat in return? Sorry, can't help myself! I know that that would be the case hear! It's not fair, my husband is such an Ogre and not a nice one like Shrek! He just says Bah hum bug to every thing! On Valentines day I gave him a nice romantic card, a bouquet of Roses and a box of chocolates, that was in the morning, in the evening I did a romantic candle lit dinner for two. What did he do....I hope you're not expecting anything, you know I don't believe in this rubbish!

Oh, you enjoy it wishful, keep the romance going as long as you can.

hi and welcome, i am pretty sure he will do it however you may need to sign a further consent form for being borderline, i think bmi 30 is that however not completely sure. there is a lovely lady on here called mmm she will i am sure be able to tell you. Both her and i were in belgium at same time. (hope you dont mind mmm)

gx

No probs Gary especially when you call me lovely lady.

Dr Chris has had some bad press about low BMI the last I think was in the Mail about Oct, so I doubt he would be willing with a BMI of 30. I put a little bit of weight on to make my BMI up to just under 35 (they dont weigh you in Belgium so its just your word what you weigh). But you will have to sign a disclaimer to say the operation is only for aesthetic reasons. Both myself and another dutch lady had lowish BMI, we were in a ward together and was told quite strictly about the reasons for having it done. (he keeps his low BMI seperate I think because of the disclaimer).

In your situation I would e.mail him, to ask, giving your height and weight,he might agree, but you wont have lost anything, or you could arrange a uk consultation.

If you look back a few pages I have put Fredricks e.mail address on here so I would try that first, but be prepared to wait for an answer. I dont think going through an agency would work for you.

By the way welcome to the gang and good luck with you Quest.< /p>

oopps just remembered e.mail address its frederik.serneels@ecfs.be

Hi fatpants, I can sympathise, I have one just like it here too. He doesn't do valentines/christmas/birthday cards or presents usually either. I didn't get anything on my 50th birthday a couple of years ago. Romance is well and truly 6 feet under at this house. Well, when I'm slim, think I will go out and get me a younger, more romantic model...

Mandy - I wouldn't be pushed into parting with your money. I know others on here have felt the high pressure sell from this particular company and if it were me, I would definitely book directly. Like you have already been told, they can be a little slow in e-mailing back but they will do, it's just hard waiting when you've made your mind up, I know, you just want a date arranged. You don't usually have to wait too long for it.

All the best everyone, bigsister x

Dont pay or sign anything till you got all the facts, remember you are the one calling the shots here, and dont let her bully you, she prob reading this thread and knows theres a chance of loosing her commission. A far as the dates are concerned, if she does'nt book it for you Dr Chris will still have a vacancy for that date wont he. One lady with us only booked 3 days before the op. This a major decision make the right choice for you, and get all the facts before you commit. Tulla's package does not include the cost of the hotels and taxi's, or pre and post op visits by Fredrick.

hi, if your hellbent on getting it done then i would maybe decrease your height by an inch as that will increase your bmi because as mmm says they dont check height and weight. not the best advice to lie i know but i can appreciate that you just want it.

Dont know - if he says no in e.mail he prob means it however if he suggests a pre op consultation, there must be a good chance, my opinion is that he would not take advantage to arrange a consultation just for the money, i consider him very ethical and hepfull.

Gary knows my secret, I shrunk 1. inch and gained 10 lbs the night before my op (oooooppppppsssssss) it must have been the belgium air or the metric conversions.

Nobody checked height and weight at any time, but I did'nt have a uk consultation

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
