Just got another Question for all those of you who have,Restriction How soon after the fill did you realise you had proper restriction??? I had a fill with wendy last saturday & im just trying to work out if I have true restriction now or am i just swollen??

I cant eat to much at all could this be it finally the sweet spot lol.....I hope so.

Whats your thoughts?

Wow not one reply, I guess no ones had restriction then?

Well Ive finally got it

I guess I felt something was different with the last fill and knew after 3days of liquids that it was here woohoo.

Its gonna take some getting use too, being full on so little.. bring it on.

Hi OliverDog

I e-mailed Fred just to check that he has received my deposit and he e-mailed me advising that I would be picked up from the airport, someone would be holding one of their signs, and they would take me to the hotel and that Fred would see me at the hotel around 7 or 8 that night.

I'm starting the lowfat on over the weekend. I thought i'd eat all my favourites over the last week or so, I haven't actually put on any weight but I tell ya, I'm sick of food - at last lol. Got the big knickers and I also bought a girdle that you can wrap round your waist and it dies up at the side, I was just a bit worried whether I would be able to bend over, I don't really want to ask my 23yr old son to help me out. I'm holding on to that old trick until I'm a bit older lol.

I haven't been thinking about the op too much, I'm not at all worried, I did have a look at some of the other sites where things went wrong (I felt I should see the other side of the coin) but I'm staying on this happy thread.

I'm planning on going back to work the following week, just hope I'll be up to it. Though, reading through some of the more recent ops everyone seems to be getting on really well.

I'll keep you posted.

Debs x

Sorry cant weight, I did read your post and was going to reply, I'm such a plonka!!

I knew in an hour or so I had restriction, but sometimes its the next day, with me anyway.

I have had this restriction since early July, and my God its hard, yesterday I couldnt hardly eat anything, just 2 crispbreads, nore could I get much liquid down, its scarey.

Today I drank a mug of coffee, but it was difficult.

I tried some All Bran but only managed 2 tespoonfuls.

I am at present struggling to get down an Actimel.

I just wish I had had a de-fill in July, but I was so pig-headed, I thought it would loosen off, and here we are 2 months later and its still awfully tight.

Everyones doing so well.

Thank you Carrie for your reply, I hope you enjoyed that wondeful meal, sounds scrummy.

Thanx to you too Wishful xx

Is anyone going to see Freddyboy on 8th October?

My appointment is at 1:30.

has anyone heard from Sammy lately? Was wondering how she's doing, pregnant and back at work, poor love.

Roseta, a bit of advice, dont eat anything for a few hours before your fill, the reason being is what happened to me.

We travelled down to Southampton took about 3 or more hours, so we ate a couple of sandwiches. (well I ate half, but I also ate a 4 finger kit kat)

I got my fill an hour later and of course cos it was so tight, it couldnt go anywhere, and I suffered for hours, cos I didnt realise. later that night I vomited it all, because I couldnt even swallow my saliva I was so full.

I hope that helps you hunny, just be very careful.

Just back from having a fill with the lovely Wendy. Thats me now got 4.5ml in, dont know if I have any restriction but Wendy reckons I should defo notice a difference.

I also brought up the already discussed topic of any mishaps happening with fills from WLS and Wendy assured me that providing it was her fault (incidentally she has had no mishaps in over 10 years of doing fills), she is insured for 11 million pounds. She would send the unfortunate person to have their band checked under xray an have it repaired or replaced at no cost to the patient. I have no qualms having my fills done with WLS and Wendy is really fantastic at her job. I hope this eases new bandsters minds in choosing who to have their fills with. I think they provide good value for money and she really is an expert in her field.

TIN how much did you get put in today and how are you feeling? Jx

Hi frecks, I know how easy it is to overlook some posts this thread moves so fast lol.....

It sounds like to me you need a defill thats way to tight:ohmy:

Are you getting enough Water in through the day?

Im still able to eat most things.. I have a Actimel in the morning or weetabix.. for lunch just lots of salad tuna or chicken... For dinner boiled Potato salad/veg with chicken or so...Trying really hard to get my Protein in through the day.

Your hardly eating frecks....get a small defill Asap.

@ Homecare wendys just great aint she, so positive & very proffesional she def knows what she's doing, & never had any probs finding my port first time.:mad2:

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
