Recommended Posts

Welcome deedee its great to hear from new bandsters, I know you'll fit in you can have great conversations with freckles, (bowels and stuff). Dont be dispondant if you dont get instant results when you have a fill, some do get restriction but some dont see much difference until about 2nd or 3rd. Its different for everyone, but so far you have done so well with a great weight loss. Well Done You. :sneaky:[thanks hun and im looking forward to makin some grat friends on here as we all share our experiances xxx]

Shoes,

How are you doing - haven't seen you on here for a while.

Must meet up sometime

Wishful,

thanks for the well wishes, and gives me confidence in going for the op by saying 'I'll never look back'.

My friends all ask me am I nervous and I say 'No' cos everyone on the site have advised me there is nothing to worry about!!

How much have you lost since your band was fitted?

Hi guys!

Well i spoke to my nurse today and she said 2 of my scars are over granulated which means the heal on the outside instead of the inside so they are bumpy!!!!:sneaky:

Also having real problems with my hair falling out it doesn't show but it just won't grow!!!! So i went to holland and barrett and bought some high strengh silica complex which should help!!!!!

Doctor also gave me some lactulose today so no more stool problems for me!!!!!

Hope everyone is well!!!!

Of course you can be another of our adopted sisters Mmm and join Flirty as we made her one too! You have to be very experienced and proficient in bickering and pinching clothes tho! But as we are the same age, we will have to be twin sisters, and as we are same boob size, we can share bras! (There's a Fantasie one I've got my eye on if you'd like to get that for your birthday?) Twinsis xx (Down side is you get Gillian as a little sis!)

Starsky - I'm sure yours will be deflated soon after banding too, your date will soon be here. Hope you're all prepared, how is the Fluid intake going? Bigsis xx

Hi Bigsis, I'm getting prepared for the Op, I've got my Milk thistle, Windeze and Nuromelts, just got to get the multi vitimins. Have I missed anything, I read it would be good to get Bio oil ?

As for the Bras, my weight has been so up and down I have 2 triple wardrobes. One is filled with size 20/22 and the other is 16/18. Included in this are bras and knickers which hardly got worn. So I think Im gonna be ok for a while pn the clothes front. Can't wait to get into the second wardrobe again. Some of the clothes have still got price tags on and have never been worn........how bad is that ?

My Fluid intake is ok, still need more practice but I am more aware, so hope it will be ok by the time the big day comes around.

Good luck to all peeps being banded and of course the lovely Gary being repaired,.

Freckles so sorry to hear about your mum but you would have been worn out and not be able to give her quality time that you now can.

Good to see you back odge, hows the weightloss doing.

Sparky I also have three different size of clothes and at the moment Im going from biggest size to middle size so on the right track.

Anyone going to belgium remember and take big mug as the hotel ones are small plastic ones. Jx

Hi again. Yes, Bio Oil is good for scars but you can't really use it until they are fully healed and so no big rush to get that yet. I took Nurofen Melts with me but found them to be quite powdery, got to the back of my throat and made me cough and so better for me is either the liquid childrens painkiller i.e Calpol 6+ or Nurofen. Think it may have been Sammy who also suggested Lempsip or similar 'flu/cold' remedy which is mainly paracetemol based and can be taken as a drink rather than a tablet and so that is ideal too.

You won't need to take any dressings with you but for when you're home, I got some great ones from Lloyds chemist, brand name Smith & Nephew called OpSite. There are 5 in the box (perfect! and right size too) and they have an ultra thin film, are waterproof and so ok for showering til you can get into a long awaited first bath (nearly as good as chocolate)! Found these were a lot better and a lot less expensive than the Boots ones I bought and used first.

If you drink tea or coffee, I would take some with you as what you get in the rooms is pretty awful and also take a mug as you only get a small plastic cup.

Make sure when you go to the hospital on the morning of your surgery that you take your passport with as you do need this to check in.

You will be flinging open the doors of your smaller size wardrobe before you know it! And when you do, sell your bigger wardrobe contents on e-bay, big size clothes usually go really well, it will fund a new even smaller wardrobe!

Will let you and others know if I think of anything else you may need to take, Bigsis x

ps You might also need something to pass on a bit of time like a good book, Nintendo DS/PSP or similar and i-pod.

Hi

I'm struggling again I was unable to keep any food down yesterday. I'm going to doc this afternoon she said I may need to be hospitalised for IV fluids ( I don't think so !!) I assured her I can still manage sips and have been trying to sip alot and I'm fine with liquids - it's just food ain't goin no where. I'm now taken double dose of nexium (which u guessed it r in tablet form).

Can I assure those concerned with swallowing difficulties that I was first diagnosed with oesphagitis (grade d) in Jan' and this condition was being managed pre op. Dr C was aware of my condition and agreed that losing weight may take pressure of hernia and L/T I would see improvement.

This problem goes back to 2 of my pregnancies were I had severe sickness for the full 9 months causing burning scarring to gullet. I just want to make it clear I'm not blaming any of this on band. I'm a little scared how this will effect fills etc.

I'll Report back soon !!

ps. I'm starvin :wink2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
