Doing well? Day 14!

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow bandsters!

Good news :D *drum roll*

Today is the last day of my "only-liquid" diet! Yes! I am two weeks post-op! time flies! :whoo:

I was drinking Water, slim fast, ensure plus shakes, milk and Tomato soup!

Yup DRINKING! The first week I was sipping, it took me 30 min to finish a glass of water! :cry I got tired ;/

I was thirsty! I emailed my dietician, she said NO! you have to sip, take your time! :P

The 2nd week I couldnt do that anymore! started drinking bigger amount, like finishing a cup of milk in 10 min only! is it dangerous? :)

I started craving food the 2nd week, when I came back home! Not that i'm hungry but I miss food in my mouth :D

Mushies here I come! tomorrow I'll start with mashed potatoes! I dreamt of it the other day and my dream must come true! :biggrin1:

Seriously, what is it with bad dreams? I am having some of those where I start eating while on a liquid diet! or drinking carbonated drinks! :bored Scary scary dreams!

I am back to work after 14-day sick leave! I told my co-workers I had a hernia repair op!;) I don't know why I lied!! Has anyone lied too?

I am a stomach sleeper but now I am scared to sleep on my tummy! is it OK?

I am suffering from hiccups! like continuous hiccups for two days! Is it a sign of dehydration? Please don't tell it's a full signal! I am not drinking alot :)

That will be all for today!

MUSHIES! HERE I COOOOOOOOOOMEEEEEEEE :hungry:

Love,

Blooooooooooooooooooooooo

I'm 13 days out. You do have to sip fluids. I started purees on Thursday. I was really excited for them, but actually miss the liquids. Waiting an hour after eating before I can drink anything drives me nuts. Hopefully it will get better soon. I'm going back to liquids today, just to rehydrate some. Plus my mother made me a ton of broth which I LOVE.

I still can't sleep on my stomach, too sore in that area. But I'd say if you're not sore then it's probably fine. Most people I know say it takes about a month to be able to sleep on your stomach.

During the first week I was very swelled and it took forever to drink. Half of a sugar free icey pop (the kind in a sleeve) took me 30 minutes to eat. And that's about an ounce of Fluid. I had a lot of restriction. As the swelling has gone down I have been able to drink more. I just constantly sip fluids all day long. The only time I am really thirsty is when I wake up. But I keep a Water bottle on my bedside table.

Hiccups could mean that you're drinking too fast, gulping in air while you drink. If you drink too fast you can stretch out your pouch.

I just did a little thread wondering where you were, and then looked down and here you are... You sound like you are doing fine. Mashed potatoes, oatmeal, cottage cheese...you are going to feel a lot better when you get into that stage. Liquids stage sucks. But don't be surprised when your hunger comes back like gangbusters. Don't worry about it, or fret if the weight isn't coming off immediately. Your band isn't even working yet. This is strictly the healing phase. Good luck and glad to hear you are doing well!

HOoray for mushies! I started mushies last Monday and I was sooo excited to have mashed potatoes every night for dinner.

The downside is that I stopped losing weight when I went to mushies.

so, I have upped my exercise (walking) to hopefully continue to lose weight.

I am going on day 14 and I get to start to eat regular food again. I can't wait to eat a sandwich!!

I Was Banded On 9/5 And I Am Always Hungry, I Have No Restiction And Won't Get Adjusted Til 10/15, It Seems That I Am Gaining A Pound A Day. I Only Eat Soft Foods Like The Dr. Told Me And I Am Gaining Everyday. It's So Fusrating And I Don't Know What To Do.

I am glad I am not the only one that is not losing as well on the mushie stage. I have to stick to 800 calories so I should be losing but that darn scale just isn't moving. I too need to up my exercise.

Hang in there everyone. We are in bandster hell.

from what i've read on here the hiccups mean you're full.

i have been sleeping on my stomach for over a week now.

the soreness only lasted a few days. when it stopped i woke up

one morning on my stomach and surprised myself & hubby.

i was banded on sept. 6th.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
