Dizziness and sweating after food!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I'm 2 and half months post surgery and I've noticed sometimes after having a meal, I feel a little dizzy and I start to sweat. This lasts for a good hour or so?! My whole body changes and I feel uncomfortable. Anyone else experience this??

Thanks

I feel very tired suddenly after I eat.

Don't forget we had major surgery.

Sounds like dumping. Try slowing down and take smaller bites.

I feel that way if what I am eating has a lot of carbs/sugar. And I get that tired feeling if I eat too much now.

I was told that VGS don't get dumping syndrome but I had a bit too much of a sugary thing and I was miserable for an hour. Nauseas, feel like I can't move, something feels really wrong, I have to lie down. Then it goes away. It's happened 3 times since my 10/10/16 surgery.

My dr says that VSGrs definitely dump! I haven't experienced it yet because I am only 3 weeks out, but it was discussed in my pre op classes!

My NUT said some Sleevers dump and I happen to be one of them. Sugar doesn't seem to bother me but rich fatty foods do. Basically leaves me miserable for about an hour. I'm still mourning bacon!

That happens to me if I overeat or have too many carbs. It feels very flu like and miserable. Does it happen only when you eat certain things?

I heard that about 13% of vsg patients experience dumping syndrome. So yes it can happen, but it isn't something that all vsg patients experience.

Do you have any pain? The only time I have felt this was when I drank a diet lemonade 3 weeks post op and it hurt and I felt awful...I am avoiding citrus since

Sleevers can have a version of dumping. That is for sure! For me it really only happens if I eat something high in sugar and milk at the same time, like a milk shake or rich ice cream. I don't recommend eating those things frequently if you are a sleever anyway, since they are a good way to get in a lot of calories without restriction!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
