Hopefully I am posting in the right area.

I was sleeved 12/29. I am the MOH for my best friends wedding in June, and I have to order my bridesmaid dress within the next month. I have no clue what size to order. The nice thing about the dresses is that they can be taken in or out about 2 sizes either way.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm about a dress size 18/20 now.

I can't guess what size you might order, as there's no way to know what your rate of loss will be or how long stalls may last. Alas, there's no sleeve owners' manual, not to mention that there's no guarantee of how diligent you'll be. You're probably making faces at me just about now, but I believe in reality.

Check with the shop now on whether they'll be able to reorder in a significantly smaller size when you're ready to begin fittings. See what you can get them to agree on with regard to an even exchange if the size you order this month ends up beyond altering. Better yet, explain the situation, leaving a solution open, then see what they come up with. They know what's really real in terms of ordering these dresses.

Yeah you might just want to order one size smaller than what you are now and then get it tailored. You can always get it smaller but not bigger.

Agree that you will guessing at this point. Also depends on style of dress. There are some online weight loss calculators you can search for to give you an estimate of how much you may lose or will weigh by wedding time. Perhaps the gown fitters could help you determine the size to order from that.

I would talk to the bridal salon. I'm getting married in February and I had bypass, my moh is on medifast and my bm started jogging in August so we are all going thru this together yet differently. Ironically right now all in a 16 starting at different sizes. They waited moh ordered in November was told it would not be in til mid January, the bm ordered right before Christmas. Both are back already. My wedding dress is a 20 that fits like a 16 I will have it altered the first of February slightly with a seamstress on standby

The shop doesn't allow returns but allows exchanges. The problem is I need to order within the next month to insure it gets here on time for alterations and such. If I had to exchange it for a different size, there wouldn't be enough time. I think I'm just going to order a 14 with the hopes the seamstress can work magic of need be.

My advice is better too big than two small. And let your bride know their is a chance this might happen. Pre surgery I had a period where I lost about 15 kg in the month or so prior to a wedding I was bridesmaid for. My dress maker was furious but I refused to let a dress scare me off eating well and walking. I had the dress taken in twice and I had to end up wearing two bras to give me extra lift and volume but it helped me fill out the bust which is where u will notice it most if too big. I would say the dress was still a size to big and there was strategic pinning and sewing me into the dress on the day. My bride was just happy I was succeeding. And ultimately it did still look really nice. Do allow time on wedding day to take those extra steps getting ready. Even in the space of a week u might have noticeable change in size. Keep trying it on.

I'm in the exact same position. My best friend is getting married in April and I have absolutely no idea what dress size to order! And I have to order it by the end of January.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
