Results of Belly, Arms & Legs After Weight Lost

Recommended Posts

Hi, I wanted to ask those who have lost a lot of weight of they experienced sagging belly, arms and legs after?

My Highest was 255 as of 7/2013.

Had Band and Not Much Success.

Had Revision from Band to Sleeve 11/16

I weighed 231 day of surgery.

Today I weigh 227.

One main concern is the state my arms and legs will be after I loss more weigh or reach my goal.

I plan on exercising once my soreness is gone.

But would like to know what others exercised after losing weight in regards to their belly, arms and legs?

And I understand everyone is different, but just what like to hear some store stories.

Almost everyone who loses a significant amount of weight has saggy skin. You can exercise arms and legs to build up the muscle and it helps a little but it depends on how much you lost in those areas. Stomach sagging is pretty much always the case.

Go to YouTube and search: WLS, VSG, RNY, etc. Look for "skin flicks". People strip down and show it all.

Mine were already saggy in my arms. I feel it has gotten worse since surgery. I'm 38 but not too concerned from it.

Legs and arms are ok so far, I did my best with biking and swimming, but for the belly skin it's another story, I don't have that much excess skin but it's there! I think you can't run away from it :(

Depends on your age and how much you lose: I'm 61 and lost just short of 100 pounds - baggy skin in stomach, neck, arms, breasts, thighs and butt (listed on the order of how much it bothers me). I'm having a TT and mini face-lift to take care of the 2 that bother me most. The surgeon suggested that the arms be left alone as the scar would probably look worse. Breasts look fine when covered (as does butt) so I'm leaving them alone (and thighs would be the same issue as arms).

It depends on many factors but I believe where you carried the majority of your weight is the most telling. While I carried my weight everywhere, the majority of it was in my boobs and stomach.

I had the sleeve on 11/3/14 and lost 130 from my highest weight. My stomach, boobs, arms and legs all have loose skin but my stomach and boobs were the worst. I just had a breast lift and Tummy Tuck on Monday. I don't think I'll bother with my arms and legs though.

Here's a picture of my arms and side boob (which is loose skin as well and was removed during breast lift).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
