My doctor lied to me

Recommended Posts

Met with my doctor and he told me he is clearing for surgery and was calling the surgeon to tell him. Not even a couple of hours later I got a call from the clinic stating that my surgery is cancelled because my doctor does not feel right with me doing it what hurts the most is that he shook my hand and told me good luck on my surgery on Monday. Now they want to push it back by 3 months. Lol as I sit here crying I just can't wrap my head around it. I guess it is what it is. The clinic said they are talking with the surgeon tomorrow since ivr quit my job that caused me to pass out due to an extreme anxiety attack. I'm hopeless now. I give up on this journey and next year I won't be able to come up with all the money. This isn't a outta part more like a who an I now because this surgery was my new start to bit be so disgusted with myself, to let the power of my rapists go because they are why I came to this place because I could never handle it. It was my chance to be able to love my daughter and run around with her at some point. Now I have to get into the gym extra hard and eat the diet plan and continue that way. Sorry for the lost post I'm on sleeping pills so it may sound like gibberish and I apologize

Thank you Because when I went and saw him he was concerned about my heart and everything cleared. So he was clearing me and as soon as I left he called them and said something totally different

OMG. So sad to hear that. What is the reason for him not clearing you? If there is no health issue, I 'd go to Mexico, self-pay and be done. I just had my sleeve with Dr Ponce in Tijuana. He is awesome.

@@hudjess, you've given more information in this thread than you did in yesterday's thread. You have been and are dealing with so much that gets you down. You said that you have anti-anxiety meds, but nothing about whether you're in therapy. If you don't have a good therapist, it seems that finding one is most important. Working with someone who is knowledgeable about anxiety and its triggers and sources will do so much for you. You'll be more comfortable inside your own skin, more available to your daughter, have better chances for following through after your surgery and just enjoy life more. I think those things should be priority now.

I see a therapist who thinks I am ready for surgery as well, I have been I have been on meds for over 6 months, I have been stable and then my boss got in my face and started pounding me and just kept going and going and I passed out because I couldn't take it anymore. This is not an all the time thing. I am stable, I am ready, I am mentally and emotionally prepared. But I guess I have no choice with waiting so I'm just taking it and accepting this hurdle as well. But I give up it's always one thing after another. I am officially done with trying to get the surgery. I quit my job which was my main stressor and it's not good enough

@@hudjess, I'm thinking of your well-being for the short term and the long term. If you believe that you're ready for surgery now, fine. It was only my thought that a few months more to regroup before surgery wouldn't be such a bad thing. (I get that the financial aspects may change because you left your job, but I wasn't thinking in terms of money.)

I expect that your therapist wrote a letter in support of surgery a while ago. Maybe another letter to refute your PCP might make a difference. I also expect that the surgery practice set you up with someone else for the psych eval and you "passed." Just throwing this out -- maybe a revisit with that person would make a difference. Another possibility is to ask the surgeon what would make the difference -- what would get you back in the OR schedule. Asking may get you some concrete info that you can work with.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
