Looking for January 2017 sleevers

Recommended Posts

I think I had my first dumping syndrome. I drank some apple cider and within 30 minutes I had horrible stomach cramps, diarrhea and weakness/dizzyness. It was pretty sucky and I'll be working to avoid doing that again anytime soon

Only one more week to go! The pre-op diet will be tough at times I think. So far I'm thinking of everything I didn't eat and will want for the next few weeks

Doing pretty well today! I slept in my bed last night after sleeping on the sofa/chaise since Thursday (it hurt too much to lay flat or on my side) so it was nice to curl up next to the Hubs. (And by "curl up," I mean "slightly bend." I'm not that flexible yet.) Plus my dogs weren't so confused about where Mom was - ha. I woke up this morning with very little pain - the largest incision is still a bit sore but overall I'm feeling a lot better.

I still have 2 more days left on my "Week 1 - Clear Liquids" phase but I have introduced some diluted Tomato Soup and that's gone well. I've also had teeny bits of goat cheese (in the soup) and haven't had any issues. Other than that I've just been drinking my Protein shakes (I use Premier Protein and like them), chicken broth, diluted apple juice (only if I start feeling shaky), and SF popsicles. But I CANNOT do Jell-o. I tried all kinds of flavors and I just can't. Texture maybe? Regardless, not for me. Ha.

The biggest news is that I am down 9.8 pounds in one week! That is crazy. Yay! :D

My one week follow up is this Thursday so we shall see how that goes! (SD was 1.11)

The last two days have been challenging to say the least. I've thrown up multiple times on at least three separate occasions. Taking solid Vitamins appears to be getting harder and food/liquids seem to be taking longer to move on than expected. I wait half an hour after having fluids and find that food won't stay down. Meanwhile weightloss appears to have slowed. I'm feeling more tired and rundown despite doing slightly less. I'm hoping this is a phase and it too shall pass without too much difficulty.

Hang in there. My dr mentioned some feel lots of fatigue a few weeks post op. Do you have a nausea med? Maybe call your dr.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
