Looking for January 2017 sleevers

Recommended Posts

Hi! 2 weeks into soft foods. I'm reaalllllly looking forward to seeing that scale number start with a "1..." - weight loss seems slower - but going in right direction. Just impatient!!!

HW 236, SW 226 (Sleeved 1/12/17), CW 203, GW 136

Oooo, so close. How exciting for you. Should be in the "1s" next week or very soon after. Yay! [emoji3]

My time is NOW!

Can't wait til we get thru a few months and get to a good point. At week 4, I would still get diarrhea quite often, thankfully that stopped. Last night I fell asleep at 6:15 woke up at 9:10, went back to sleep, up at 1:40 and went back to sleep til 5 am, back to sleep till got up at 6 am to shower and get to work. I think our bodies do require a lot of rest, it was a big part of us removed. Does take a while for it to heal no matter how great we feel at times. No chills, feel great today, so insane is the yo yo of feeling good, and freezing/chills. I read that is one of the #1 side effects, feeling cold.

I did notice I'm freezing most of the time. Before surgery I never wore a jacket outside or used blankets, I was always hot or sweating. Been getting very nauseous every time I eat lately, even throwing up,doc says I'm eating too fast but it takes a good hour to eat dinner which is only a couple of tablespoons

I will say after week 7, eating and DRINKING (it was brutal for me to drink enough before) has really changed. Wow, I can't believe that it takes you an hour just for a couple of tablespoons and you are still throwing up. What kind of foods are you eating now? I know 2 weeks ago, I couldn't even half of what I eat now. So sorry you are going thru that, can you just try going back to just the Protein drinks, and puddings for a while?

Any kind of fish especially tuna gets me. I can handle soft vegetables and ground up chicken pretty good. I'm only 5 weeks so hopefully like you the next few weeks will get better. I still would do this again even knowing what I know now.

Tuna was so hard for me, that I had split a can I guess at your stage, and haven't done tuna since. I have like 10 cans/pouches and still not ready to go back and try it. It's strange how after surgery and these issues have happened, there are so many foods I don't want. I just had egg yesterday, they got to a point I can't even stand the smell. Don't even mention smells, I hate the smell off foods. UGH! I made some chorizo stuff for my hub last night, as soon as it was ready I ran into my bedroom and was just so grossed out by the smells. There are many scents I can't stand either. Like you said, I would probably do it again.....even though I am at a snail's pace.

Still stalled. No movement and I'm starting to lose it. I may wind up as the only person on these boards who says that given the chance they wouldn't do it again:(

Yes it is weird definitely. Now it seems like even the smell of any kind of fish makes me gag. I'd rather drink a shake then eat a couple tablespoons of tuna or any fish. Things that I loved before the surgery makes me gag at even the thought of. Finally lost four more pounds after a stall.

YAY!!! Four pounds ....woohoo!! Well, you know I had been in a stall and finally, not much but saw the scale move a little another 1.5 lbs. How true, even the thought of it.

Lost 40 in 4 weeks but it slowed down a lot. Seems like I won't lose for days, then all of sudden I'll lose 3-4 pounds. Can't complain, I know the big stall will come.
Still rather be sick of the smell and most foods then be craving them. While I was in the hospital, I was craving Chinese food.

Hang in there. According to everyone it will come off. Just remember we're not eating like we used to so we have to lose.

I am doing great, as I am starting to eat gets easier, I have my 6 weeks post op tomorrow, I have lost 50 lbs since I started, 20 pre-op the rest after the surgery. If I can say something is that I am having a hard time to move to the soft stage foods, unsure why something to discuss with the dietician I guess I am worried about hurting my stomach.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
