What brand of chewable Vitamins and calcium citrate is everyone taking?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I use optisource. 4 chewables a day for the rest of my life. The bariatric team nutrition suggested I take two in the morning and two at night. They don't have to be spread throughout the day.

Try checking out Bariatric Adavantage, Celebrate, or Bariatric Choice ...I believe they all can send you samples if you want to try them out.

I personally am enjoying Bariatric Advantage. Although they do cost a bit, they are worth it. They have a variety of chewables and chewy bites :)

I use BariMelts - I get them on Amazon (though they may be available on the BariatricPal Store also). I love them and have been using them since day 1 and have had no issues with any Vitamin tests at 16 months post-op. I also find them a bit less expensive than some.

Actually, when I first had surgery, I took the Vitamins that came with my prescription B12 nasal spray (called Nascobal) - the Vitamins were called BariActiv. I had to discontinue my B12 (my counts were way too high plus I lost my job and the cost was very expensive under my various health plans). I was distraught because I loved the BariActiv vitamins but you were able to buy them alone - only with the Nascobal. I went on a search for new vitamins with similar stats and then ran across these BariMelts. They are IDENTICAL - taste, texture and ingredients - to the BariActiv. They must be made by the same people and just sold under a different label. I was thrilled to find them.

My calcium citrate is chewable. They are made by bariatric advanctage and they are chews like starburst. strawberry is the best with orange being a close second.

I buy the 500mg ones from either Amazon or bariatric pal, whichever is less expensive. I take one in the am and one at night.

My Multivitamin is not chewable but it is very small and is a generic brand i buy at walgreens. It is a multivitamin with added D3. I have only had to buy them once because they are buy one get one free and there is one for every day of the year in the bottle. They work great and are cheap and small.

I use Isotonix, which are powder Vitamins which you mix with Water. The nutrient value is amazing. I felt healthier as soon as I started to use them -- and they taste great!

I'm using Flintstones Complete chewables, and Caltrate Calcium & D3. The doctor is really pleased with my choices.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
