So I'm curious after you get sick, how long before you feel ok again? I'm 1 week out - last night I had pudding for the 1st time, I'm thinking I ate too much because the nausea and diarrhea was horrible. It was sugarfree, and I ate it with a baby spoon, over about 30 minutes.

I still feel sick, 18 hours later. Is there a typical reset time? I need to eat and have a shake, but feel so sick I don't want to. I have taken zofran for nausea last night and this morning.

Everybody is different, I felt sick all the time that early on. My suggestion would be to sip at your Water, if it stays down then try your Protein shake. Maybe its too early for sugar free pudding. Stick to your liquid diet for a few more days.

I will stay following so we can see the results and help others who may have the same issue.

Im 6 weeks out and tried to eat a piece of cookie dough.. the break and bake kind. Ugh my stomach is having a fit, gurgling and churning! I will not do that again for a long long time.

Oh no. I think pudding was maybe too early. A few bites of applesauce have been ok, but in general I just feel sick. At least I know I'm not alone - most people say they feel great in a week. Definitely not me.

I was sleeved 9/14 and was on Clear liquids for 1 week after, them moved to full liquids for two weeks. THEN I get to go to a puréed diet. You likely ate too much, too solid to soon.

@@rolosmom7 I don't know if this was the case for you but I had the same problems in the first two weeks with any dairy (minus the diarrhea). Small amounts of dairy for pudding and cottage cheese was allowed on my plan. I was also allowed scrambled eggs and had no issues with those. Cottage cheese and the pudding just didn't sit well with me no matter how small the amount. I have no issues now at almost 4 weeks out, and I had no issues with dairy prior to surgery.

Yes, probably. I got pudding and applesauce approved early to help take pills. Applesauce does much better. I'm holding on the pudding.

Hmm. Interesting. I got Lactaid brand milk, didn't even think about dairy being in pudding. Maybe when I try again in a few days I'll make it from a box with lactaid milk. Thanks!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
