 This is me with my new band headed to SKINNY LAND

Had surgery this AM - things are looking good - all in all not a bad experience - little sore and the gas from the surgery isn't fun - but small price to pay for my new life ahead

:clap2:

Well, I did it yesterday too... and I am sitting here wondering... when can I feel normal again? The surgery itself wasn't too bad, the soreness was expected, the pressure was a lot worse than I thought though. Now that I have figured out how to deal with that... when can I sleep normally again? When will I stop feeling naseaous everytime I get up? Are these normal feelings? How quickly will these things go away? Any quick post-op advice out there?

The biggest rule post-op......drink drink drink drink, walk walk walk walk. You will not feel nauseus or light headed or weak if you get you liquids down....and Protein. If you have Protein drinks like Isopure, concentrate on them. (By the way, here is a link to find out about them. Some health food stores (especially those for body builders...but NOT GNC) carry them.

Isopure Protein Drinks (good for the clear liquid stage, and all stages....)

index

You should have liquids in your hand and be sipping constantly while you are awake. And the walking cannot POSSIBLY be stressed enough. That's when you get that rogue air moving around and you'll do a lot of burping and farting for about 2 weeks. EMBRACE IT!

I agree

Walk drink walk drink - think we can get a tv show - walk drink walk drink

Anyway - day 2 not to bad - am doing the john deere tractor imitation - fart - fart - fart - oh well - more room out than in

I have some of the whey Protein shoots - they are great - takes away the upset feeling with just a couple sips

I like the nectar Protein Drink - just like koolaid - only with Protein

Thanks for all the helpful comments - this board is the best:clap2:

I just had my surgery today, or is it already yesterday? The 29th.... woo hoo! made it through and did it... yeah, i am glad to hear about the pressure feeling...that's what i mostly have and then once in awhile that referred shoulder pain from the gas...haven't walked as much as I should have, but will tomorrow for sure!

gotta get some Protein drinks i think...i mostly have gatorade, sugar free popsicles and juice and some cream Soup packet on hand.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
