Aug 1st my sleeve day

Recommended Posts

It is finally almost here. Tomorrow is my surgery. This time tomorrow night I will be on the losers bench. Whooohoooo!!! My main concern is feeling nauseated after surgery and struggling to get fluids in. That and then not letting me have fluids or even ice chip the first day/night after. I am bring biotene spray and chap stick so hopefully that will help. My goal is to get ASAP after surgery. Pain or no pain I am fighting through it. I have had 3 c-sections, back surgery and a hysterectomy so I am familiar with general anesthesia and surgical pain. I really would like to only spend one night in the hospital. We'll see. So...here I go!!!

Good luck! You'll do great. I was sleeved 10 days ago and feel awesome. The first three days are the hardest because of the gas pains, but everyday gets SO much better. And you're going to do great since you understand walking is key! Keep us updated!

Congrats! My surgery is on Thursday. I'm very excited! I was worried the most about the liquid diet before the surgery. But I'm already almost on day 5 and it's been pretty easy for me. I guess I got lucky. XD Now, I am worried I will feel nauseous after surgery. I hate feeling that way. :/ I'm also very worried about the gas pains. I had my gallbladder removed a few months ago and the gas pain I felt in my right arm was AWFUL. Walking truly does help. So if you're starting to feel pain, get up and walk. The pain will go away almost immediately. I wasn't able to sleep even at an inclined angle for the first 2 nights. I had to sleep at a 90 degree angle. It seems miserable, but I was so doped up on pain meds that I fell asleep pretty easily, haha. After 3 days, the pain should be gone. It's unlikely that you will stay in the hospital for only 1 day. Most people stay 2-3 days. But who knows, your doctor may let you go home in 1 day depending on how well you do. :D

Also, good luck! You will do great! Please keep us updated!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
