Was wondering if everyone that has done the sleeve

Recommended Posts

I did not have to do a sleep study. I did not have sleep apnea and I never had a fat neck area.

Nope. I had no symptoms of apnea, and as I was self pay, they didn't make it a requirement.

I did not. I was worried because anesthesiologist asked about when I had Egd. I don't wake up in night or have problems sleeping. I don't know if deviated septum surgery from years ago played into them believing that I can breathe fine. But I told them my preference would be to avoid one as I hardly want to give up precious, comfortable sleep to sleep study.

Plus I met surgery criteria without it. I think it is one thing used to help with insurance but it can factor in to your ability to cope with anathesia.

I would ask as better to get over with asap if needed as it seemed time consuming.

It may help you are trying to get insurance to pay. Many obese patients do snore, and may have apnea. I went for it, as it was just another added co-morbidities. I was diagnosed with an average case, but I'm sure it helped. I've never used a machine and have been put under anesthesia a few times without issues.

I have the pulmonary eval in a week and was wondering if they would just recommend the sleep study or do some other tests to see if I need it

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I think they do a questionnaire type assessment but not sure. I dreaded the sleep study but actually like my CPAP (I have mild sleep apnea) now that I've gotten used to it.

I had to have the sleep study :/ It kinda sucked the lady there told me I did fine had no issues... and then the doc with my readout said it was bad and I had to use a cpap before my surgery which was unpleasant.. don't know if I still need it and dont use it... need another sleep study : /

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
