  1. Has anyone used the Tespo for their Vitamins? I've been looking at it as it seems it might be easier to get my vitamins in and they now have a bariatric formula. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

For those worried about excess skin...

    My gp's opinion

People gain weight back after the bypass as well. Both surgeries require to learn better eating habits and make a lifestyle change. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. My mom had surgery 5 years ago and I went with her to her meetings and had wanted me to do it with her. I chose not to but after watching how successful she was and seeing that she wasn't having significant issues and lived normally I decided to look into it more. Your daughter will see your success and will come to her own conclusion when she's ready. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. I am at the start of the process of going through the 6 months of nutrition classes for insurance approval. I have Anthem BCBS and my BMI is high enough but I was advised not to lose much weight because they said since I have zero health issues insurance could still deny me. Any insight on others journeys is appreciated. I'm regretting not starting this process earlier. I went through all the classes 5 years ago when my mother had gastric bypass. Beginning the journey

I hope your surgery went well @@Reason to Believe. I have completed all the requirements I surgeon requires(ekg, sleep apnea test, upper scope) so now I have three weigh ins left before it can be submitted to surgery. My sister found out I was going through the process and decided she didn't want me to be smaller than her so she decided to do it and her surgery is next week. She's rushing into it because she flat out told me she refuses to let me weigh less than her. This process has been frustrating. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  21. I had the option between my pcp or their nutritionist and I chose their nutritionist. The reason being I have seen some get denied since the pcp didn't have things documented the way insurance wanted and my nutritionist knows exactly how everything must be documented and she is teaching me so much about food and fueling my body. 55% gastric sleeve!?

My surgeon said no matter the start BMI they always remove the same because the body will determine the final weight and there was no need to change the sleeve size. Self pay is 12,000 where I am. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
