I bought a few Protein mixes from my Dr's office. My favorite is by New Direction and is Mocha flavor. I think right now the hardest part is that everyone around me at work seems to love food. They talk about it and eat through out the day. Doesn't help that yesterday and today there are celebrations going on in my office. BUT I am doing good so far!

@@pamelap I feel your pain! The last couple of days have been extra tough. I have set up the family to cook for themselves this week. Surgery is one week from today so it is the halfway point in liquid diet (thank God!). I've found I'm ok around uncooked food so coaching the cooks is working out. Others have to put food away. I just cannot. At least a dozen times I've stopped myself as I was moving food towards my mouth. Wearing my mouth guard helps. Having a Protein shake first helps. Otherwise I'm not allowing myself in the kitchen unless in control of my choices.

powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury powders are pretty good for basic shakes. If you call Syntrax you can get a sampler package of all their nectar flavors...its like 15 of them, I think. It only costs 16.99 and it gives you a chance to step away from the garden variety Protein drinks.

My surgery is next week and Im currently on my preop diet, luckily Im not just restricted to liquids for the whole thing. I would have had to slept the whole two weeks cuz I'd have been miserable...well more so than I already am. God I miss bread! Lol! Good luck to you all.

The struggle is completely real. I think the worst part for me is the lack of energy. I hope this passes quickly!

It was around the 6th day that my head was not a problem. No real headaches or pain - just a desire to eat something. I have 4 days left. You can do it.. Keep your mind busy!!! Pokemon Go has helped me!

I am just starting my Pre op stuff I was approved yesterday! My biggest problem is my head! it won't shut up. It keeps saying just one bite won't hurt. But, it was the same for quitting smoking. Which I had to do for this. 8 weeks smoke free. I was a 46 year smoker!

@@Sharyn You are on the right path. I have had dreams of dancing avocados, & ricotta. Sworn I smell chicken Soup in dreams. And each day after the 6th it gets easier.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
