I lost 17 pounds the first two weeks. I have lost 1 pound in the last 2 weeks. Kinda discouraging

Sounds like we are in the same situation. Hope it picks up soon for both of us!

Do you take an acid reducer? If you drink Water at that time - does the "hunger" go away? If this continues - talk to your surgeon.

My doc said I only needed to take it for the first 4 weeks (I'm at about 5 weeks now). It was making me a little Nauseous so I couldn't wait to stop it. If I drink Water it does calm the hunger down for a few minutes but as soon as I stop drinking I feel my tummy asking for something to digest.

I was starting to think this is the new norm? I only eat about 400-500 cals a day because even though I am eating every 2-3 hours I'm eating like 1 or 2 ounces of something.

My whole day is spent eating or drinking something. It's quite inconvenient especially if I'm out and about.

I weighed in yesterday at my one month anniversary. I'm down a total of 24.6 lbs which includes 4 lbs lost on my pre op diet. First two weeks or so I lost a little more than a pound a day. I'm at a good rate of 2-3 lbs/week right now, and so happy with that rate. I'm exercising (ran/walked 4 miles this morning-- I could walk 10-12 miles before surgery but could not jog to the end of the street, so this is big!). I have acid almost daily and am taking Prilosec. When I've lost 30 lbs my primary doctor will see if I can get off my BP meds. Lab work shows I'm

not insulin resistant anymore.

I'm grateful beyond my ability to express for this surgery and for this forum.

Plus-- we have a German exchange student who is living with us this year, he arrived earlier this week and is super athletic. He hugged me at the airport and said "you don't look much like your photo from June. I was expecting someone rounder. You are really quite pretty in a mom way!"

This is the best thing I've ever done done for myself.

Just curious what others are experiencing. I and 4 wks po and lost 20lb in the first two weeks. The last two I have only lost 2lbs. Is this normal? I am introducing new foods but sticking to Protein, fish, cottage cheese, cheese, Protein drinks and a few veggies.

Same here! What was your BMI starting out? I've been told & read repeatedly that lower BMI's drop weight slower. Then you know there's the legendary 3 week stall that can last for weeks. Hang in there. I've stopped going on the scale bc I'd feel discouraged. I now only weigh once per week.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
