This might be a little TMI for the guys so apologies

Okay ladies, I'm just over 5 weeks post op gastric sleeve, including my pre op diet I've lost 20kgs or 44lbs. However I've noticed that every time I get my period my weight loss stalls for the whole 6 days. I'm not super worried about it but just wanted to see if this happens to anyone else??

Looking forward to a woosh myself !

I generally gain weight on my period, then lose it after. My dietician told me its completely normal to gain up to 5lbs during that time of the month. Also I was told that a stall would be occurring around four weeks postop due to the way the body reacts to our new eating habits after surgery. That was told to me by the nutritionist at the bariatric surgeons office, and its true because I just hit a stall. But good news at the 8 weeks post op mark I'm told weight loss will definitely pick up again. Hope this helps. Oh and awesome job with losing 40lbs that's incredible.

Hi haven't had my surgery yet but previously when loosing weight I always weighed a bad week around my period and lost the next...I was carrying fluid I think..hope this helps

My weight stays the same for the whole week too... and my tummy looks bloated.... as soon as its done... I'll start loosing again and my tummy goes flatter.. so yes... it does happen...

I also get this annoying blind pimple on my chin every month the day before...and i get super snappy and mean.. lol.. so in a way thats my indicator its coming..

Stupid hormones!

Oh i am so sorry, i owe you an apology. I laughed at your agony. Oh please know this is all hormones, it will settle out into a routine.

Feel free to laugh.. i laugh at it too... its so stupid how hormones can have such an impact on your body....

I don't think it's a complete stall. Do you think maybe you just retained Fluid and Water because of your period? Do you drop a few after its gone?

I tend to gain when I ovulate then the scales don't move until it arrives and then I'll drop 3-5kg. Not every time but on many occasions. I do have pcos though. Often the gain is my cue it's coming seeing as it's not always that regular.
