  4. Jaime I have a type of Medicare UPMC for you. So 6 months of classes is mandatory too! So we have almost the same type of height and weight. After I meet with the surgeon I'll update if I have to loose any weight pre op but even if it's not mandatory I still might with the pre op diet. And good luck to you! 5. Thank you Connie! I will do whatever they tell me. I'm so excited for this change! 6 months+ can't pass soon enough! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. And the catheter depends on the Doctor. My surgeon said he doesn't use them but if you wake up you have a day to pee and if you don't they will put one in. You'll have to ask your surgeon if he uses catheters or not it's all up to them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I haven't had my surgery yet this is just all from asking questions and research. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. And I have done a lot of research to pre pare for my surgery and if you have a drain in again it all depends on if they need it. Sometimes people just wake up with IV, no drain needed. It's case to case on that one too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I'll probably have oxygen, it all depends on how your body reacts to the anesthesia. I always need it because when I wake up from any surgery my lungs are a little weak but it all depends on your oxygen level and if you personally need it or not. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. My doctor said you should lose around 20 pounds a month so I think you're on track Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. You really do need to try and follow the pre op or it could end up postponing the surgery. They give you the liquid diet to try and shrink the fat around the liver to give better visualization to the stomach and other organs they need to keep an eye on. 12. How long did your surgeon suggest the pre op diet? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I don't think it's a complete stall. Do you think maybe you just retained Fluid and Water because of your period? Do you drop a few after its gone? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I will find out if I'm a candidate in a few days. I think it's more because my insurance requires it. It requires me to take 6 months of nutritional classes and they have to run all these tests and stuff like that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. My current/highest weight is 335 and I am 6"0 My BMI is 45ish I don't know if I will have to lose any weight within my 6 month pre op. I'll have to be 300+ to stay qualified and above 40 BMI but I won't mind dropping 20-30 pounds if they need me to. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  18. I'm going to the mandatory informational session this Wednesday. I'll be filling out a form to see if I qualify but a surgeon already confirmed that I do. My insurance is saying that I still have to attend which I don't mind. I'll be updating through my 6 month pre op requirements, surgery day and hospital stays and post op. I will be documenting my process through the whole thing. Including my mood and how I'm doing with the diets, gym workouts, healthy foods that work for me, weight loss pictures and updates monthly after the surgery. Hope you guys follow me through this life changing journey and I will follow you guys too, for support. x Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
