Am I losing at a "normal" pace?

Hi,

I've only lost 6 pounds since my surgery day 7/13/16. My Pre-op pre-liquid diet weight was 272 SW: 258 my CW is 252. In 5 days I've lost 6 pounds. Shouldn't I be losing more?

I had my surgery the same day as you, and I have also lost 6 lbs since that morning. I'm pretty happy about it! This is actually a lap band revision for me, and if I recall properly, the real rapid drop starts in the third week or so. Don't worry!

It depends on how much weight you lost initially and how long you had your band

But generally weight loss is slower the 2nd time around.. for me it is slow, but steady... also being a lower BMI slows it down a little too

My doctor said you should lose around 20 pounds a month so I think you're on track

My surgery was also on 7/13/16. I've lost 7 pounds from that day. I guess we're on track?

I didn't lose anything the first two weeks. Nothing! Nada! Not even 1/10th of a pound! then in the next two weeks I lost 22lbs. Everyone is different. I'll tell you what my nutritionist and surgeon told me at my two-week postop appointment, you just did major trauma to your body. It is confused and reeling and trying to heal. Let it heal. The weight loss will come.
