I have been drinking the carnation instant Breakfast no sugar added. It taste good but only has 5g of Protein. Where can I get a Protein powder to add to foods with a higher Protein count? I really don't want to order on line.

I'm scheduled for surgery on Oct. 5. I don't know yet if my surgeon requires a pre-op diet, I hope not. I'm going away for the weekend with my hubby and some friends the week before.

Anyway, I'm excited to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's been a long and grueling road to get insurance approval. But I got it!

Hi everyone, today is exactly one month until I get banded. My only problem is that I can't stop eating at the moment... I need to get back on track. Have a great day everyone.

Hi Lafs (and everyone),

I am having my surgery Virginia. I live in Virginia Beach, but my surgeon operates out of a hospital a few miles away...it is either in Newport News or Hampton, Virginia.

I thought it was quite a coincidence you said L & D had been your first area of nursing you worked in out of nursing school becasue it is the first area I have worked in since graduating with my BSN in May. It is a whole lot to learn. I always thought the nurses I worked with as a student were joking with me when they said nursing school barely prepares you for the "real world" of nursing. Boy were they right!!

I am kinda worried after surgery I will have a hard time getting all of my fluids in when I am at work, because we usually drink and eat when we can...it is usually far and few between....and we often gulp down our food becasue we are so busy. Being a new grad nurse I am still working on my time management skills. My unit is very supportive of my decision, though....so that is a big plus!! Quite a few of the nurses at our hospital have had weightloss surgeries.

 Twyla

Has anyone considered sending out an invitation on the introductions page for people to join the TENacious TENS?

I know that's what the Crazy Ates did. Just a thought.

ok, so i am seriously having a hard time! i am eating everything and thinking of what else i want to eat "for the last time" even though i know its not really going to be like that. i have a countdown going in my head until sept 24--the day i start my 10 day pre-op liquid diet.

i posted before i have this sick way of rationalizing what i am doing b/c i am not gaining any weight from my little binges...not good though. and i know this! the scale has been going down a pound or two and back to what it is, but never higher. maybe i am not binging as bad as i think i am?

oct 4 is just around the corner. i am so excited. i keep picturing all the cute clothes i will finally be able to fit into.

omg, for the first time in my life, i will be thin!!! its an amazing thought, a scary thought, allmost overwhelming, ya know?

want_so_bad, you ain't riding this rollercoaster alone. These mini-binges are startin to cramp my style. I'm really not happy with losing my control at this point, thinkin I can do this until it's time to start the diet. The mental change needs to start happening NOW. That's why we're here, I guess: We all get by with a little help from our friends~

Hi Guys,

Twyla, I have family in Hampton and visit there often. Which hospital do you work in? I am working myself up to the preop diet. I made all the starches I could think of this week to get my cravings out of the way.

This is my first time here as a member. After reading and looking at all the before and after pictures of the hundreds who have lost weight thanks in part to the lapband, I had to meet others who are in the final stages. My name is Amy and I live in TN. I've lived here 3 years and in that time have manage to get as high as 315. I'm 5'9 and alot of my weight is in the middle(my gut) I've been over 250 for 3 to 5 years and over 200 for 10 years. My mother had gastric bypass 8 and 1/2 years ago. She was able to get under 200 I hope I will be able too.

I just finished all the pre-surgery testing and now I wait till they call me to schedual. I'm hoping some time in Oct. Not 100% though!

Anyway just wanted to join the support group here casue. You all seem real awsome!

Amy

Ive tried it all many times, it is time that I got this weight off for good.

I am glad one of you found me onthe introduction forum, thanks!

Dana

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
