Ways to prevent or minimize loose skin?

I am 29 yrs old, 230lbs. Surgery is in 2 weeks. I am hoping since I am young(er) that the loose skin won't be so bad.

I figured the slower I lose the weight the better it will be for my skin but that's probably not something I have control of. Any suggestions to prevent or minimize loose skin? Lotions? Techniques? Etc?

Loose skin is cake compared to fat!

Moisturizer and use sunscreen. You're in your 20s you should be fine. Do NOT worry about losing weight too fast. That does not impact it.

Jess9359 - is it really? I so hope you are right.

I guess my fear is that the loose skin will loose worse then what I've got currently. I know loose skin is the healthier of the two, hence I will proceed. I guess I don't hate my current body so I'll be sad if my new one makes me cringe...

It is.

A. As you've said loose skin is FAR healthier.

B. Loose skin doesn't stop you from life. I thought I was a happy/healthy fat person and that it didn't hold me back or stop me from doing anything until I became an active normal weight person. Night and day difference.

C. Loose skin is easy to hide/camouflage with clothes. 98% of people will never see what you look like naked!

D. Surgery is always an option to remove loose skin.

It will be worse...in the beginning. Let's face it, we are used to seeing and liking ourselves a certain way. My way was being a size 22/24 for over a decade. So when I initially lost weight, I was not happy with the floppy and loose bits but now two things have occurred. First my skin improved with time and as I continued to lean out in years two and three. Second, I'm now used to seeing this body every day and I kinda like it now. :)
