Good luck with everything!! Keep us posted!!

My surgery date is set for July 26th! I'm so incredibly excited, but will admit, I'm starting to get a little nervous. I have a lot to get into place in the next week. Any suggestions from those who have already had surgery? Or from those who are in the same place I am?

7/26 ... not looking forward to my 3 week liquid diet

I'm 7/26 too!! 3 weeks?!! Ugh!! I have my pre op appointment Tuesday and will find out what my diet will be then. But thankfully it's only a week. Good luck with everything!!

Day 12 of my pre-op diet and I've lost 12 lbs. Can't complain about that. :) I'm actually doing pretty well on it since they allow plain oatmeal, Greek yogurt, and veggies, as well as replacing one of the four shakes with a few ounces of chicken or fish or some egg whites. I'm being creative with what my menu options are for these two weeks. I met with my surgeon on Friday to discuss the risks and what's to come after. I am amazingly calm and not nervous at all. My surgery is Tuesday morning, 7/19 at 8:45am. I'm trying not to think about pain and gas (and gas pain). I'm just looking forward to the newly shaped me that is on it's way! Best of luck to all the other 7/19-ers (as well as everyone else here).

Hello all! Just had my sleeve yesterday. All went mostly well! I haven't been hungry since waking up so that's a relief! I do have terrible diarrhea (tmi) but at least I'm not on the other end of things. Awaiting my discharge as we speak!!!!!

Okay...day 2 post op. I have to say, this is not bad. There are moments of pain but pain meds are my friend these days. Walking makes a huge difference. It really hurts at first but concentrate on standing up straight and walking and you'll get through it. Sip slowly...you'll regret it if you don't.

Hello. Surgery next week on July 27th. No pre op diet but have lost 60 pounds on supervised diet and 85 from my highest weight (I was already dieting on my own before I decided to have surgery and start the medically supervised diet).. everything is happening so fast now but I'll be glad when it's all over and done.

Just wanted to check in! VSG on July 14th. So post op day 3. No pain meds since 2 am the morning after surgery while I was still in the hospital. Did have some vomiting during my first night home... That hurt bad!! Right now my biggest complaint is my hugely swollen uvula, that is gagging me every time I swallow or speak. Working on getting my liquids in. I was supposed to advance to full liquids today but I just don't feel ready.

Just dropped my 2 year old daughter off at my parents for the week, I have to report to the hospital at 6am tomorrow for a 7:30 surgery, it's officially feeling"real", feeling nervous and excited at the same time!!! At this time tomorrow I'll be on the other side!!

I just wanted to wish everyone who are having the sleeve done GOOD LUCK. I just had my on the 15th and I already know that this is one of the best decision that I have made for myself. Let me be quite honest the first day after surgery is a rough one, but by the 2nd day it gets better, and by the 3rd well your headed home. Just remember why you choose to do this, to begin with that helped me a lot . Any questions I'm here and will share what I have been through thus far .

Just got home from being sleeved on July 15th. The day after is painful and you will be uncomfortable. It is very hard at first to put anything in your mouth. Day two you should start sipping as much as you can and walk to help with the gas pain. Don't fool yourself...this is a major surgery and you'll feel it. Just keep your sights on the goal and you'll be fine. The only thing I remember the day of is kissing family members an being rolled into the OR. I didn't even know they had already given me the meds to put me out. The next thing I know was waking up in recovery groggy and not knowing where I was. Soon after that I was reunited with family and told it was a four hour procedure and I was going to be very sore. Just trying to find a liquid I can actually tolerate. Best of luck to those going soon and know that everything gets better each day.
